This is a wonderful children's story with some really fun antics and two delightful characters. Brody and Fred are emblematic of just about every kid (and dog) that resist going to bed. I adore how gentle the illustrations are in this book. They are a wonderful fit with the overall motif. It's a charming tale about difficulties in families. It's funny how Brody, Fred, and the dog all have identical nighttime habits. I don't know if the bedtime ritual is practical having had children, but perhaps it's just meant to be hilarious. The book is excellently written, and the author should be commended for their work. For any kid, it makes a good bedtime story.I adore how gentle the illustrations are in this book. This is my FAVOURITE BOOK EVER for kids! This is every kid ever at bedtime and every dog, too!! The pictures and story are so relatable and gorgeous. I want to recommend this book to everyone I know who has kids and a dog! If I could give this more stars, I would! 10/10!!

Charming story with the moral told though the behavior of a dog! I just love that way to help kids learn important lessons. This book was full of fun and loaded with stuffed animals and toys that children can relate to. Especially good for situations where your child is resisting going to sleep. The only issue I had with it is that the type face is very tiny and could be challenging for early readers themselves to read. When older people read to them though, a fun story. ... show more

This book is a gem! And not just for bedtime! My second-grade neighbor read it aloud to me during lunch. He laughed at what would happen next in the story and the fabulous illustrations. This book is a must for all dog lovers!! I like the softness of the illustrations. It lends to the overall theme of the book. To me, this is an endearing story about family challenges. I appreciate the interesting parallel between the dog, Fred, and Brody, when it comes to evening routines. Now, since I have raised several children, I am questioning the effectiveness of the bedtime routine in this book. Perhaps it is supposed to be comical, thus, purposely not practical (LOL).
