  • Great design, disconnects constantly unless phone is held in the same hand
UPDATE: As long as I hold the phone in the same hand that I wear the Go-tcha on it stays connected for long periods of time. Honestly, this makes it usable, and adds 2 stars back to this review from 2 to 4. It's a limitation, but at least it's clear how to make it work I was so excited about this device after the Brooks Gotcha thing died out on me (I think I overloaded the battery? It would not turn on). This version (evolve) is MUCH bigger, and most importantly it TELLS YOU HOW CHARGED IT IS AS YOU CHARGE IT. I do think it lies about this because the charge reading is kind of logarithmic. It jumps to 50% in a few seconds but it can be many many minutes until it hits 75%. Honestly, I dislike how big it is, but I was excited about the prospect of this item not dying on me. All excitement left me as I started to use the device. Every minute or two it disconnects from the phone. It just does NOT work as you would want it. Go for a 10 minute walk and maybe 30 seconds will get captured. It is an overpriced frustration device. Sure, if you are actively playing Pokémon GO you can keep an eye on the connection and repair every minute to keep it going but you should just play the game normally at that point. I just wanted something that would capture a few Pokemon while I walked with my wife without having to be sucked into the game like an annoying partner. If the devices are marketed as doing this function they should do that function. I have wasted money trying out this and the Brooks Gotcha and this one is way worse. I feel like as long as you don’t charge the regular Gotcha (maybe never charge more than 20 minutes) that device is far suoerior. This hulking monstrosity is all show and no form. Seller was great and delivered the item as described. Nothing against them or their professionalism, just pass on this item. ... show more

  • Yes, buy it! It's worth it.
So glad we bought this! It actually works really well. Make sure your bag is not full because it picks up pokestop and gym rewards quick. If your bag is full it will not alert you, so keep an eye on it or it will not be able to collect rewards. It picks up Pokémon first if you have it set to capture both pokestops/gyms or Pokémon. So be aware of you are noticing no pokestops rewards. I usually set mine to pick up the pokestops vs Pokémon unless there is an event going on. I will add Pokémon back when I know there are very few pokestops around. (Or just let it collect both and see what happens - either way...) I wish it didn't periodically disconnect 🙁. Just make sure to look to see the red Pokéball isn't greyed out. It's quick to connect back so not a huge issue. I also wish we could set it to not pick up certain Pokémon or a way to somehow measure their worth - CP/IV and only pick up higher levels or shineys at that. Wishful thinking I know... 🤦🏽♀️😬 Back to reality, we can usually get the pokestops & gyms while going around 25-35 mph but have also gotten them up to 45mph at times. It doesn't have to be worn either. We leave it in our car console. It charges quickly which is awesome. The best part is you can leave it on with your phone on HANDS FREE and get your Pokémon & rewards. This makes it much safer for those who will still drive while playing. Be safe out there! Happy Pokémon hunting. ... show more

  • Perfect gift
This was the perfect gift for my son. He had been asking for one so I sent it to him a month early for his birthday. All I keep hearing from him is Thank you Mom, thank you Mom I just love it!

  • Lasted 3 months - worked well while it lasted.
So, this is the best of the 3 auto catchers I have tried. That said after 3 months the screen is dying, randomly changes settings and is now super flaky. I am going to wait until the new one comes out from Nintendo and get it.

  • Good, but one flaw
It’s a good product but it disconnects sometimes.

  • Needs more improvents
Quite not happy with its performance, or maybe I expected too much. In many instances, it just stop working (not catching pokemon or spinning pokestops) even if it's still connected to the app. I read some reviews, they keep on disconnecting but that's not my case, it just stop working idk why. Also the catch rate is not good, i hope in the future we can set-up which ball to use base on CP so we can have fair chance to catch higher CP pokemons. I guess I have deal with this for now. ... show more

  • Poorly designed - Too expensive for what it is
This version of the Gotcha has a few extra features. There is a pedometer, and a battery life display. I don't care about the pedometer. I have found the battery life display to be completely inaccurate. It will say full charge, and then it will die. The WORST part about this Gotcha, is how it is charged. You have to wrestle half the wrist band off to reveal a USB plug, that will fit in a charging port either way, but only charge one way. Like, what a stupid design. I feel like I am going to break it every time I try to remove the band. In fact, I probably will break it eventually. For the new price point, the design should be way better. At least have a better designed way to remove the band and expose the charging USB. The old Gotcha style was unreliable. It would work fine and then never work again and you'd have to buy a new one. But it was $25 or whatever, so I think I ended up buying four old style Gotchas since I started playing Pokemon Go. This new Gotcha version is more than double that, and they bumped the old Gotcha up to this price as well. So this is the end of the Gotcha for me. ... show more
