  • Passed smog
Swapped out for OEM one that was damaged. Allowed the check engine light to come off and pass smog. No issues since installed

  • Fits/Works great, a little pricey by OK
After a few hundred miles and several weeks it seems to be holding up fine. As usual OEM parts are a little pricey, but probably worth it most of the time. FYI: If you have these "Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected" codes (P0455, P0422, etc) coming up, the 'cheap guy' sequence is to re-tighten your gas cap & clear the code. If it comes back, replace the gas cap if it is over a couple years old, and clear the code. If it comes back, check the two valves first (purge valve & vent valve), especially if they are original and years old, as they have to open/close a zillion times and wear out. Purge valve is on top of engine, vent valve is underneath near the charcoal canister and gas tank. Both valves for my car were cheap enough to just replace versus trying to test them first. We also found a broken(completely off) port on the charcoal canister, leaving hose open to the air. So, to avoid the mechanic and the time/labor$ for 'smoke testing', do: gas cap, 2 valves, visual inspection first before you take it to a mechanic. ... show more

  • 2002 Suburban 2500 with 6 liter engine. This part fit my car even though Amazon says it doesn't?
It worked for my 2002 Suburban 2500 with the 6 liter engine. I also replaced the evap valve under the rear of the car and the one on the top of the engine and so far it has cleared the check engine light. Hopefully I will be able to fill the tank with gas now without the pump constantly turning off. The evap canister is located just in front of the fuel tank, you need to look closely because there is a crossmember right under it so it's kind of hidden. ... show more

  • 2003 Tahoe Fit
This is a perfect match for a 2003 Tahoe. Took me about 30 minutes start to finish. A little hard to get the old connectors detached from canister. Once I figured it out, super easy in and out. Cleared a CA smog check a few days later. I had to replace only because I broke one of the connectors while dropping the fuel tank to replace the fuel filter. I would recommend. ... show more

  • Easy install
There is conflicting information on the web about how long it takes to install this vapor canister. It is actually super easy and it is a DIY job in 15 minutes IF you know the trick to undo the hose clamps. On some model years the GM hose clamp is a strange plastic squeeze fitting that was designed by an engineer who was traumatized by childproof caps, so he got revenge by designing an adultproof hose connector. You have to squeeze the two tabs on the side and then at the same time with the other hand (or ideally with pliers) squeeze really hard at the base of the ring (here's a diagram). This will allow the two locking tabs to clear and then you can pull it out. Once you have the 3 hoses pulled out, this new unit slides right in with two bolts. Now that I have some practice, if I had to replace it again I could probably do it in less than 5 minutes. ... show more

  • Fixed my P0446 code with this
My 2001 tahoe kept throwing a p0446 code when the evap monitor would run. Removed the d canister and found bad gas inside it. Replaced it. Cleared the codes, set all monitors with one drive cycle snd passed California smog. Everyone will say to change the gas cap, purge or vent. Its most likely a bad canister after 150-200k miles. ... show more

  • Exact fit!!
Part was identical to the original one and fit perfectly. Also stopped the Service Engine Soon light from coming on, most likely because one of the hose connections on the old one was broken. Great value!!
