    • Genuine GM and nice addition
Have an older 1994 K1500 w/350 that didn't originally come with a A/C or Aux fan for added cooling. This year was fairly hot and my A/C wasn't working so great so I looked into adding a fan. All you really need is this fan, 4 bolts to mount it (my truck had the holes already) and to wire it up (either with an aftermarket set up or try to match what the factory would have done). I found bolts at my local hardware store and went with a Hayden Automotive 3651 fan controller. I also used a upper radiator hose pipe adapter in 34MM (B018FY0Z84) to install the temp sensor from the controller kit. Wiring took the longest of the install but fan works great. Didn't really fix my A/C issue (think there is a super slow leak in the system somewhere), but the fan kicks on when the engine gets hot enough providing some air flow and cooling to keep things from getting too hot (usually in stop and go). ... show more

So far so good. Made a little difference in AC performance. That being said, I live in Saudi Arabia and our summer is unforgiving with temperatures reaching 50 degrees Celsius at times which in America translates to 122 degrees Fahrenheit! My truck didn't have issues cooling before, but I had to install just in case I needed it. I could've install any aftermarket fan, why I have purchased this one? Let's just say "it's a GM thing". I tried to get the specs from AC Delco tech support on this unit. I wanted to know the CFM, and Amperage rating along with startup current inrush, but they did not have it available. I was told only GM has that info and they do not give it out.

I had a running hot issue when using the Air Conditioner and driving under any kind of a load. I have heard many people with the same complaint on similar vehicles. I decided to add this auxiliary fan to improve the air flow at low engine rpm. Easy install for a serious shade tree mechanic. Came with most of what I needed, except instructions. perfect fit for my 1999 chevy tahoe. though the truck was not originally equipped w/ the aux fan, the option was there. I added an inline fuse to my aux battery and a 30amp relay. tapped into the a/c req'd push button behind the compressor and the fan kicks on when my a/c is enabled. cold a/c at idle and colder than ever before! ... show more

Installed this on my 1993 gmc surburban. Fits perfect very good quality. Only run a/c Delco product because they just fit and work.
