Works great. My husband is a DIY guy. I do the internet research, I show him and he does the work. We've had some AC problems lately, and have learned a lot in the last few months. To remove a fan blade or a blower motor is almost impossible without a puller, and if you do get it off it's all beat up and takes hours or even days. After reading lots of reviews and watching YouTube videos, I was set on this one. It was a little bit more than what I wanted to pay but I thought, if I buy the cheaper one and it breaks or doesn't work, then I would have to buy an other one and wait for it to get here. I'm very happy with this tool. My husband had the blower motor off and the new one back on, in just a few minutes. Quicker then I could get the spot vacuumed to put it back in. I'm glad I spent the extra and got the better tool. He'll be able to use this tool for years to come. ... show more

Did the job well. Worth noting that the pin is likely to be harder than the fan motor shaft. Remember to remove the set screw first, if there is one. This tool still removed the mangled shaft after I removed the set screw, which puts it above the tools I usually have to work with.

I purchased this puller to be able to remove the "squirrel cage" from my failed indoor air handler motor. I read every review including one from a person that complained that it was junk because it is made from aluminum. He was correct that it is made from aluminum but the very highest strength grade of aluminum. I also viewed a "You Tube" video that showed how the puller worked. The puller performed exactly like the video had demonstrated. I think one key to making the removal easy was the fact that I sprayed the hub and motor shaft every evening after work for 7 days until my new motor arrived. This puller has never let me down. Works on HVAC blower wheels and fan blades. Haven’t damaged any wheels or blades and always get them off. Fairly simple to use. The only damage I almost did was ran one of the screws into the edge of the blower wheel set screw hole. Don’t do that!

Of course, the shaft of the blower motor I was trying to replace was corroded and in spite of cleaning it up and using penetrating oil, it would not budge. I ordered this item and it was delivered the next morning to my front door. Within three minutes of receiving this I had the old blower motor freed and was able to move on and complete the job. I hated that I had to spend $55 to get it taken care of, but this tool does exactly what it is advertised to do. I bought this to remove a blower wheel from a unit I got from salvage in the mid 90s. Like some other reviewers I found that there were a few manufacturing defects, I needed to chase the threads in 2 of the 3 set screw holes, and I did have to be careful to position the tool, it does not center easy. But after doing so and proper prep (oil the threads, prep the motor shaft) the blower wheel came off with little to no effort. I drove the motor out till the shaft was no longer proud of the wheel hub, then re-aligned the tool, not having the tool properly aligned after that will most assuredly end badly. ... show more
