I bought this fixture because it was end fed, not center fed like most. I needed to replace a failing low voltage track light that had intermittent connections. So here is what I found out. 1. Put the lamps in while the fixture is down, on the floor or a table. It is much easier than after the fixture is up. The manufacturer supplies a worthless suction cup gizmo, it doesn't work if the face of the bulb is textured. I made a loop out of painter's tape, just long enough to get a couple fingers in, then locating the prongs of the lamp into the socket, then a push down and twist secures the lamp. I used the Philips Bright White 3000K lamps, very satisfied. The Philips lamps cost a bit more, but I think they are worth the money. 2. If you are brave and can be safe, plug the 2 black wires into an extension cord, then plug the cord in, verifying all of your lights work. Be careful and make sure the fine wire strands don't touch the other wire. 3. Remove the mounting plate and secure it to your junction box. There are slots and holes for many different configurations, get this on correctly before proceeding any further. Next assemble the fixture's adjustable height rods to the desired height and tighten these up securely by hand. 4. All the other reviews say you need help to put this up. I put mine up by myself and here is how i did it. First, carefully measure the distance from the center of the height rods to the center of the wire hanger on the opposite end. Be careful and measure twice; on the 6 lamp it was 43-3/8". Now measure from the center of your electrical junction box that distance and locate the hanger wire mounting. Once that mount is up, then you can attach the fixture from that end and proceed to the junction box end. First attach the stranded ground wire; it goes between the 2 washers on the green screw, the building ground wire goes between the upper washer and the plate. DO NOT USE WIRE NUTS FOR THE GROUND; YOUR FIXTURE MAY NOT BE GROUNDED! With the ground wire secure and holding the junction box end up, attach the hot and neutral; the two black wires from the fixture can go on either wire. Now try to get the junction box cover on. You may need to twist it a bit for the holes to line up with the mounting plate. If the fixture it drooping too much, leaving it hanging by the wires and adjust the hanger wire raising the fixture a few inches, then get the junction box cover on and the decorative nuts on and tight. Finally put a level on the fixture and adjust the fixture for the final level position. ... show more

Recently expanded the kitchen and I needed a light fixture to offset from the original box. This worked great. The lightbulbs (not included) are a pain to insert. I got a wad of masking tape, rolled it and stuck it to the light bulb to maneuver it better.

I installed this light fixture in my home office, and was a great choice. A lot of lighting and also you can point the bulbs to your preferred direction. Really worth it and easy to install.

This system was easy to put together and appears to be good quality, plus it's nice being end fed for power and not center fed like most systems. However, one thing I did find frustrating was that it does not come with bulbs and while that is listed in the expanded description, the info would be useful in the title or at least the short description. The reason to note this is someone could believe that it does have bulbs since the wattage is listed, but the bulbs determine the wattage (it is not listed as "maximum wattage"). UPDATE: just installed it today after receiving bulbs... As another review noted, putting bulbs in the cans is a bit of a challenge (using tape to position and turn was really helpful). There is 1/4"-3/8" total space between the inside edge of the can and the bulb- the particular bulbs I used are standard length and are recessed about 1/2" inside. (...Again the tape trick was a lifesaver!) ... show more

When renovating our spare room into a man cave for my fiancé, we had difficulty finding a light that would look good replacing our old off-center light. We didn't want to have to redo the electrical or have to redo the ceiling in order to center it so when we stumbled upon this light we were thrilled. We love the matte black color because it looks super sleek against the black walls. Install was super easy, he finished it in about 20 minutes all together. The only thing he said was to put the lights in first using the suction cup provided, as putting them on once it's in the ceiling can be more difficult. We have another off-center light in our home and will probably be purchasing an additional one from this company. Definitely recommend. ... show more

The headline says it all really. But what I really liked and was unique about this light was that the electrical mounting box is offset from the center. In other words, the mounting box is closer to the end of the line of bulbs. This is perfect if you want your line of lights, your field of illumination to extend outward in one specific direction. These track lights were not too hard to install with a little help from my wife to hold the fixture steady while I made the electrical connector. Pretty nice looking I think. After this picture was taken the next day I installed a dimmer switch. Even better now. Kitchen Island on a slant which is why they are installed this way. My wife loves them. Definitely bright enough when the dimmer is turned up. Also ordered two boxes of the Bioluz LED 5 Pack Commercial Grade GU10 50W Replacement (Uses only 6.5 watts) Dimmable 3000K and for the dimmer switch the Lutron Ariadni/Toggler LED+ Dimmer | 150-Watt, UL Certified, Single-Pole/3-Way | AYCL-153P-WH.
