  • Great beginning bass
Size: 39" Right Handed Color: Red
I’ve had this bass for almost 2 years now and it’s held up great the quality is surprisingly great for the money and if you put a sticker over the name it looks the same as the fender one I love how it looks and the noise and tone is great it’s not too hot but heavy and the size is perfect definitely recommend for a beginner ... show more

  • Great bass for the money, got lucky I guess
I made just a minor adjustment with the truss rod to get the action to come down a bit. Everything else seems good, it looks nice, fit and finish on this one is great. I got the transparent yellow finish and it looks cool. I've been playing guitar, keyboards and drums for years, and have everything I need now for my little bedroom studio. I never got into the bass, but since I play the guitar I'm familiar with what I want to do. I just had this delivered yesterday and played it for a few hours this afternoon. I'm very impressed with the sound - I've got a Zoom R8 recording deck and a Zoom A1-Four effects box so it gives it all a boost. Easy to play and listening back it sounds great. I feel like I got away with a steal, this bass is that nice to play and record with. Couldn't pass it up for what I need when I saw the reviews on Youtube. Will be great and then some for what I need to get a good bass sound. ... show more

  • Get One
Get one. You Can't beat the price for a bass like this, works right out of the box. Needed a quick budget friendly studio bass. Been playing guitar for 32 years.... This thing is a beast, plays great right out of the box. Only cons so far = serious Neck Drop :) it's ridiculous how light the body is and how heavy the neck and head stock are. Just wear a strap that isn't slippery or add a little 2-3Lb weight on the body strap. The intonation on the low E and A isn't perfect, but not bad. EASY fix. Other than that, for 65 bucks, no complaints at all. Get one while you can. And do some mods if you like over time. I'm leaving it as is for now, exactly what I needed for right now. Even the strings are decent. They sound punchy, I dig it, maybe steal wound? Great for rock/punk, but can always change to high end stings if you have $30 bucks! I will change strings soon. Fix intonation, easy buy moving the little pieces in the bridge saddle a touch forward or backward to get open string to match up in tune with the 12th fret. The tuning pegs are ridiculously big, but somehow don't look silly on this full scale bass. And they feel pretty solid, can get it in tune easy and it's precise. For the Money, can't beat it. I'm super happy with it. I see no blemishes or screws messed up, it was built well. Apparently I got a good one. I've heard people get ones that have something a little out of place now and then, but this one is spot on, all over. I got the sunburst, it looks great. For 65 bucks = 5 stars+ ... show more

  • Good Starter or Project Guitar
Size: Left Handed 39" Color: Black
After a few months with this guitar, I feel that I can confidently say that it is a very playable instrument and great for anyone seeking a bargain guitar that will hold setup and tune. There are small issues with cosmetic aspects, but Glarry is very interested in your satisfaction and will make a reasonable effort to handle any real problem. I know from experience, but that's another story. A reasonable setup and tune will make this guitar well worth the investment. Better strings, a little work cleaning up the frets and oiling the fretboard as appropriate will help as well. The included strap and bag are barely adequate, and I chose to replace the cable as well. That you get any extras at this price is amazing. The only issue I have encountered after many hours of play concerns the strap buttons. The screws that hold the buttons into the soft basswood body are barely adequate. Remove the screws and replace them with longer screws. You could probably manage with putting some super glue in the holes to reinforce them and use the same screws. I can see this being useful as a beginner or project guitar. ... show more

  • A perfectly usable bass for about the price of a good gig bag.
Size: 39" Right Handed Color: White
I have played guitar since 1965 and also bass for much of that time. I wanted a cheap knock-around bass I could take to camps and other outdoor events and said "$63.95, what the heck!" I was very pleasantly surprised. I ordered the bass late on October 29, and it is not Prime, so shipping was listed as free, but not 2 days. I was told I'd receive it "between Nov. 5 and Nov. 12." I actually received it November 1! Wow. Great shipping. The bass came packed in a cardboard box with styrofoam reinforcements and arrived in perfect shape. It came with a cheap cable and the Allen wrenches needed for truss rod and and saddle adjustments. The body is a very pretty off-white and the paint is perfect. The bass's body is basswood, and feels a bit light but sustain is good and I'll probably be thankful for the lightness. It does make it a bit neck-heavy though. The bolt-on neck could have used an additional buffing for smoothness, but is certainly no problem to play. Hey, it was less than $65.00. The rosewood fretboard is nice (a little lemon oil brings out the grain) and the frets are smooth with no sharp edges. Nowhere on the outside of the bass is there a serial number or even a country of origin, and there is no brand at all on the Fender-copy head, which I prefer to some hokey off-brand label. I will probably stain the head to give it some color. The tuning machines look substantial and work smoothly. We will see how they last. The pickguard was protected with plastic film which was a pain to remove around the pots. The pots themselves are smooth to operate, with great gradual change of volume and tone and work quietly (we will see how they last) and the knobs look good but feel a bit light, with less "meat" than a real Fender. Setup was OK. I'll need to do a little work with the truss rod and saddles to get it perfect, but it's certainly useable right out of the box. Plugged it in and started to play. The volume is slightly lower than my Washburn at any given amp setting, and the fact that there is only one set of pickups means it's less versatile. That being said, the tone is great. Even set on treble so there is more slap and picking sound, the bottom end is good and strong. It will cut through a mix just fine and, hey, $63.95. Make no mistake. This is absolutely a beginner's bass. That being said, it is a very good one, and one I'd not feel bad about taking as an emergency fall-back bass on a gig, or to a place where damage was possible. Highly recommend. ... show more
