A $69.99 bass should not be this good! This bass is not surprisingly light weight, but surprisingly sturdy and well-built--particularly for its light weight. It is almost perfectly balanced and quite comfortable whether suspended from a strap or straddling my leg. It is a nice looking instrument too. It feels really nice in the hands and sounds good through the amp and going direct into the board. I've been playing more than 40 years and this Glarry 5-string actually impresses me! ADDENDUM 3/10/2026: There is no logical reason that any bass at this price point should be this good! I've already recorded four songs with it and look forward to buying the J/J next!

Not a bad bass just to mess around with and learn the 5 string. Neck is like bare wood. No protection over it at all. Will apply some tru oil on the neck when I change the strings Strings are not the best but will do for now.Pots are kind of cheap but work. Pickups actually sound Very Good. I won't be changing them like I thought I would. Can't beat this bass for the money.

Understand what you are buying. This is the one of the cheapest basses on Amazon. I needed something I could leave in my car and not worry about for gigs. Fret ends were very sharp and needed attention but I anticipated that. I had guitar center dress the frets for $40 and then I took the neck off and ran it under a polishing wheel before reassembling and setting it up with new strings. I will probably drill new holes and move the strap mounts to fight the neck dive. I already had equipment to polish so I didn’t have to buy any but with everything else I’m all in for less than $170 on this bass. Now it plays and feels great despite how it will most likely come out of the box. But anybody who gets upset about some sharp fret ends on a $70 instrument needs to reevaluate their expectations. Neck polishing might not be necessary since some people prefer the matte style finish but expect to get some fret work done on this and then to have a perfectly playable instrument.
