I've never tried acrylic nails before (applying myself, or even applied by someone else on me), but I've been interested to learn. I've been watching some videos on YouTube, to learn the basics, and I figured if I got a beginner's kit, it would help me with a good starting point. It was confusing to me why this kit included a UV light, since you don't need it to cure the acrylic, but they did include a base and top coat that use UV curing. I'm still slightly confused, because, as I understand it, you don't want to use a base coat under acrylics, and it's not necessary to use one between acrylic and a gel polish, if that's what you want to use over the acrylic level. I have read that you can use a rubber base gel under acrylics, but it isn't sold as that, so I'm not sure. The top coat is useful, but it still seems a little odd to add it to an acrylic starter kit. I won't complain too much, just seems like a weird choice. First, when the box arrived, I could already smell the acrylic liquid (monomer) before I even opened it. The box didn't appear to be water damaged, and after opening it, I found the bottle to be well sealed, but it was still emanating a very strong smell, before opening the seal of the bottle. (And after you've opened it? Wow. It lingers in the air for HOURS after you've finished playing with it.) The box seemed a little small to me, after viewing the product page, but they fit a lot of things into a fairly small box! (The first image of the product page is currently showing double the items, for some reason, but there are other images that list all of the items correctly.) I had been expecting the monomer bottle to be larger, but it should be good enough to start with. (And maybe I can replace it with one with less of a smell, after I run low.) There is a little instruction booklet included, but it's more of a guide/suggestions rather than a How To instruction. I'd recommend YouTube, to find actual tutorials, if you're also a beginner. One other thing I'd really recommend, is not practicing on yourself (or another person) first. You can practice the application process on a piece of paper, etc, but if you can get a practice finger, it'll help you practice with the shaping/filing process. It took me a few tries to get the basic strategy down, and I think I'll need to practice a bit more (especially with filing/ shaping) before I feel confident switching to a living subject. I do really like the glitter product, though! It wasn't entirely clear to me how to use it (it almost seems to bead up on its own? But not very well. And dipping in the color after gathering an initial bead of the normal powder seemed dangerous), but I ended up mixing some of it with some of the clear powder, in another container, and it worked great! (Use a container you don't care much about, in case you get too much monomer in it, because you mixed too little powder, and it solidifies in the container, never to be moved again...) Overall, this is a nice starter kit for me to learn on, but a practice finger would be more useful than a UV light, to learn acrylic techniques.

This kit has pretty much everything you need to try acrylic nails at home. It has the powders, liquid, base and top coat, glitter, tools, and even a UV lamp. You only need the lamp for the base and top coat though, but it’s a nice bonus if you don’t already have one. The quality is fine for beginners and the price is good value for what you get. If you end up really getting into doing your own nails, you’ll probably want to upgrade to higher-end products, but this is a solid starting point. I'm pretty happy with it.

I'm absolutely loving this acrylic nail kit! As a beginner, I was a bit intimidated by the idea of doing my own acrylic nails at home, but this kit made it incredibly easy. The kit comes with everything I needed to get started, including a clear pink acrylic powder set, a UV light, and even some gorgeous glitter powder for added flair. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, and the quality of the products is top-notch. I was impressed by how easy it was to mix and apply the acrylic powder - it's definitely a lot more forgiving than I expected! As someone who is new to doing nails, I wanted to give acrylics a try and thought this set would be the perfect starting point. With this kit you get everything you need to do a set of acrylic nails including two 15g jars of acrylic powder in colors clear and pink, a bottle of Monomer, a 10ml bottle of top coat and base coat, an LED nail lamp with charging cable (you need your own power brick), an acrylic nail brush, 6 jars of glitter, a small glass cup for the monomer, 10 alcohol wipes, and 20 nail forms. The glitter included in this set was not the same colors as what was shown in the listing which is unfortunate as I preferred the colors from the listing over what I received. The colors I received were red, orange, lime green, magenta, purple and blue. The first thing I noticed upon opening this kit was the overwhelming smell of the monomer. I thought for sure it had leaked but everything was sealed perfectly. I eventually realized that the monomer scent was coming from the inside of the box containing the LED lamp. It had me worried that someone had spilled it on the lamp but the lamp ended up working perfectly. I'm not sure why it smelled so bad but everything seems okay. I had been really intimidated to try to do acrylics but it actually was easier than I thought it would be. By no means did my nails come out great as it was my very first time doing them but the acrylic stayed wet long enough for me to be able to work with it. This was a great set that I would definitely recommend to anyone new to doing nails.
