I purchased this for the cabin, and it is perfect. I love that the top lifts so you can eat at the table and play games. It was fairly easy to assemble, the instructions were not super clear but in the end, I was able to put together. I did put the top on the wrong way but it was an easy fix.

I'm going to put this right up front: MAKE SURE YOU PLACE THE HINGES ON THE RIGHT SIDE. Look carefully at the instructions, and note the sticker with the arrow on it. The hinges look identical, and there's nothing designating which one goes on which side. Why am I telling you this? Because I fumbled around with 16 tiny screws that I could barely see when I was installing the hinged tabletop. When I pushed the pistons down, there was a big gap between the top and the table. It was only then that I realized the hinges were on the wrong sides. Undid 28 screws, flipped them around, and all was well. I don't know whether to blame user error or unclear instructions. Maybe a combination. Anyway, it's a sturdy and attractive table when you get it together. Just get a friend to hold a flashlight while you're screwing in the hinges. If you don't mess up, assembly should take about 90 minutes. Also be careful with the parts bag. Each component has its own pouch. Pull one open with too much force, and your parts will go flying everywhere. Ask me how I know. Minor complaint: One of the four felt pads that go inside the tabletop had a bunch of paper stuck to the back, leaving very little stickiness to hold it in place. I think there was also a side of one panel that didn't have predrilled holes. I had to force in two of the screws. The rest of it, though, went together fine. Pack your patience when you unbox this table. And did I mention watching which side the hinges go on? ... show more

The description is not accurate unless you believe press board with stick on wood grain is “solid wooden and metal construction” and I would rate it lower if it wasn’t actually nice looking and otherwise functional. Press board is basically compressed cardboard and not “solid wooden” construction. It’s false advertising and Amazon needs to require the seller to correct it to represent the actual material. ... show more

    • Great coffee table for using a laptop on a sofa, solid construction, good value
This coffee table is great for multifunctional spaces. When closed, it works like a standard coffee table, with some visible storage shelves under it, as well as storage within the upper part that isn’t visible. When opened, the top raises to a level suitable for, e.g., working with a laptop while sitting on a sofa. The storage area is large enough to hold things like power cables and a mice that can be used with laptops, as well as a few laptops. As a result, it’s quick easy to clear off the working area and return the table to being a coffee table. The storage area under the top could also be used for things like small blankets. The build quality of the table is good. It feels solid and looks nice. The corners of the top are rounded, which makes it safer for little kids to play around. Having said that, when the coffee table is opened, the corners of the metal frame on the sides of the lower part aren’t rounded. Assembling the table was a bit of a pain. It’s straightforward to do, as long as you follow the instructions, but some steps in the assembly process recommend two people.
