    • I'm satisfied with the product...but...
Purchased for under a desk in a cold office. Product is what I was looking for at a very reasonable price. It heats up fairly quickly and the ECO mode seems to work well. I've only had this for a few days but it seems to do what I need at a great price. That said, here are some things to keep in mind. 1. The pictures here on Amazon make the unit look bigger than it actually is. However, it is close to the listed dimensions. There's nothing wrong with the size, but I was surprised when I pulled it out of the box. 2. It's louder than expected. I don't necessarily need quiet operation and I didn't buy this looking for that. However, it is louder than expected—but no more than most fans used in the summer. Looking here on Amazon, the product description states that it's "low noise" and has an image with a caption of "Noiseless Companion." For those of you looking for quiet operation, this is not it. However, it could be due to the issue below. 3. There is a potential fan issue. I see that there are couple a negative reviews that say it doesn't function properly and/or that it shuts off constantly. When I first tested this unit, it was very quiet, but not putting out significant heat—at least not far from the unit itself. I thought, how could this heat my small bedroom office? Then it shut off. When I turned it on again, it shut off sooner. After that it wouldn't turn on. This unit has an overheat protection and that's what was triggering the shut off. I thought, was I too close? Once I let it cool down enough, I turned it on and immediately switched it over to fan only mode, but no fan seemed to be blowing. Holding down the tip over protection plunger, I turned the unit over on its side so that I could get a better look inside at the fan blades. They were not moving at all. While the unit was still on and in fan mode, I used a small screw driver to attempt to spin the fan. After 2–3 tries, the fan kicked on and spun as expected. I turned the unit off, then back on with the heat setting and now it seems to work just fine. It was as if the fan was stuck and I freed it. The unit is no longer overheating and seems to be working properly. Now, is the fan speed suppose to be variable at different settings (Hi, Hi ECO, Low, Fan Only)? I don't know. But I don't see anything mentioned that it does, so I'm guessing that it doesn't and the fan is operating correctly. If the fan operated correctly from the start would the unit be quieter? I don't know. The fan noise is not bad, just louder than expected and I do turn it off during meetings. Overall, I'm pleased with the unit, especially given the price. But quality control may be a concern. ... show more

    • It literally stinks!
The heater has a strong unpleasant smell. Just sitting and not turned on you can smell it. And when its on you will definitely smell it fuming the air! I'm guessing it's because it's new! It may go away as you use it i hope! But right now the smell is driving me crazy! It smells of very strong chemicals and plastic in a very dirty toxic way! Its just terrible!!! It has my entire bedroom stink!!! Praying it goes away soon! Or i may return it before the date expires! I just had it a day or two. We will see what happens. PS. I brought a different heater not long ago for my basement and it did not have this kind of smell. I mean it had that new regular clean machinery kind of smell but nothing like this! This smell like it's been sitting for years in a abandoned stink dirty factory somewhere!!! It basically smells disgusting! It works fine nevertheless but had to read up on how to use it a bit. It was a little complicated for me. But i finally got it to work as i needed! ... show more

I was excited when I saw this heater. It had electronic digital temperature control, and included a low setting of 750 Watts. I am living in my motor home, which has a 120V, 30A power feed for everything. I have an existing space heater, an old Honeywell, which works great, and displays the actual room temperature when you are not adjusting the set point.. I set the temperature on it, and always run it in low power mode. I have a second heater at the other end of the motor home, a Lasko, which I wanted to replace. The Lasko does not have a tip over switch, and can only run continuously in low power mode, the temperature setting only works in high power mode. Very frustrating! When I tried the new heater, it got the room up to 78 degrees on my Accutemp thermometer (other heater off), when I set it to 72 degrees in low power mode. The display never shows what ambient temperature that the heater thinks it is. Later on, it kept shutting itself off repeatedly. I think that the over-temperature sensor is set at too low of a temperature for a heater of this design to work properly. I decided to return it, because its operation is completely unacceptable for my situation, and doesn't work the way the manual says it should. I just noticed that I had an email from the seller sent before my return request. It says: "Please set your desired temperature in ECO mode, the heater will keep working to keep your set temperature unless you stop it manually or the heater turns off automatically after working about 24 hours. It is an energy saving working mode. In HI and Lo mode, the heater will stop when reaching the temperature you set, please wait about 10-15 minutes to cool down and restart manually and reset the temperature if you still need heating. It is designed for special limited time use. We recommend you use ECO mode which will meet most of your application." I would not have bought the heater if this had been disclosed on the Amazon web page. It is dishonest to only email this to people after they have bought the heater. Glad I can return this piece of junk. ... show more

    • Why does everything beep?!
This heater puts out a good hot flow of air, with a max temperature of 95 degrees. Nice portable size. But here’s my beef: if you adjust it one degree, or move it at all, it beeps. If you adjust it ten degrees, it beeps 10 times. If you turn it a bit to aim it better…beeps. Not only is this annoying to the user, but everyone within earshot has to hear all the high pitched beeping. Engineers think this is user feedback.
