I love the fit and style but to not have any netting in the vents to keep the bees out is a huge design flaw. I almost sent it back but decided to McGiver some screen netting in the front vents. I can't count the number of times I have bees caught in my vents. If it wasn't for the netting a serious injury would have occurred. As you can read I am bugged about this....     • Visor Falls Off
I had a Giro Feature and it saved my head in a crash. I bought the Fixture because the Feature isn't available anymore and it seemed similar. I've ridden with it about 10 times and the visor has fallen off 3 times. A branch also got stuck in one of the vent holes and pulled my head back. Nothing like that happened in the 6 years and thousands of miles I rode with the Feature on. I also wish the visor were longer. The helmet is comfortable. ... show more

First, I’d like to thank Giro for an amazing product that saved my life today. I live in Tucson Arizona and took a mountain bike ride today with two of my riding buddies. We rode a famous mountain bike trail called Bug Springs on Mount Lemon here in Tucson today. This trail is a very rocky and technical trail. Near the beginning of the ride I chose a bad line which caused me to be thrown over my handlebars. As I was falling I saw that I was about to land head first into a large and planted rock. All I could do was tuck my neck in and hope for the best. After landing, I immediately yelled to my riding partners “I’m ok”, as they ran towards me. I then stood up to show them I was not hurt. I took off my Giro Fixture helmet and saw that my visor had been broken off and my sunglasses had been snapped. My riding partners and I stood in amazement that I was not hurt worse. I then looked at the Giro Fixture helmet and saw that the hard shell was smashed in and the core has cracked in several places. I then looked at the rock I had landed on head first and immediately thought, I could have died for sure without this helmet. I was able to piece my gear back together and finish the ride. For the rest of the day all we could talk about was the insane crash I had and that the Giro helmet had saved me. Today Giro helmet has gained a life long customer from me and two other riders that saw me crash. I was able to walk away with minor scratches on my hand and face which is a testament to the outstanding construction of the Giro Fixture helmet. ... show more

    • One fatal flaw makes it unusable
The chin strip ear pieces are not adjustable. This wouldn't be terrible if the chin strap was situated comfortably, but it isn't. It does sit under the chin. It sits under the throat and chokes the user every time you look up. This makes the helmet extremely uncomfortable and unusable.

Had been looking for a good fitting mtn bike helmet for a while. This one rocks! I have a big head (7 3/4). That's my size for baseball hats and the such. This one isn't like a lot of helmets that sit on your head like a bowl on the crown of your head. I had trouble finding a helmet at my local sporting goods store that could fit me and was decently priced. This one fit perfectly and has a reliable brand name.
