I started buying rugby shorts when I decided to slow down to relax more and work less. At first I settled on one brand and bought several pairs; as soon as I did, the company quit making them. I tried others but liked the ones made of cotton the best. I happened to choose this brand on inseam length, tried them on and they have been my favorites ever since. I see in the comments that when used to actually play rugby, there are some issues. I don't play rugby; I like them because they are comfortable. They are tough, they clean up nicely and wear like iron (maybe not in a rugby match).

My husband has worn rugby shorts since he played rugby as a young man. He uses them for gym, outdoors, and everyday wear. These are great quality, strong cotton shorts. He has big legs but a narrow waist so we usually buy a size 46 to accommodate those thighs. The size guide said to go with a 5XL which is perfect. Lots of room for movement, squatting, etc. They are a bit longer in length than regular rugby shorts but this is actually better. Now the kids won't say he's wearing his shorty-shorts! He loved them as soon as he tried them on and I immediately ordered a second pair.

Not too bad little pair of rugby shorts but they ripped the first day I got them during tackling or something, I didn’t notice until after. They fit pretty accurately to your regular size.

These shorts are a nice thick canvas-style cotton. They are comfortable, roomy leg openings for big guys. They get softer with each wash. Good structure, roomy pockets large enough to hold phone.

Purchased for my son to play club rugby (New Jersey). We saw the reviews saying they were on the tight size so initially purchased a size up. Had to return those and repurchase the usual size and they fit perfectly. They're cotton with no give - unlike usual flexible lycra shorts which is difficult for kids to get used to and so I wouldn't call them "comfortable". BUt they are fit for purpose and they are rugby shorts. The cotton is a heavy cotton and should survive many hard tackles on the field. Would reccommend to anyone looking to play rugby.
