  • Stronger than expected
Color: 35% Dark Smoke Size: 24" x 6.5'
I ordered this to put on a temporary plexiglass window I had glued-on to the rear side of a badly damaged Jeep hardtop (while awaiting a new replacement hardtop which is hopelessly backordered). I had to deviate from the instructions and install it on the EXTERIOR of the window right before a 4-day Jeep/4x4 trip where we were hitting some pretty challenging 4x4 trails. I honestly thought as soon as we hit any tight trails with trees brushing the side (we call that "free pinstriping") the film would start tearing off. So for the first couple days I tried hard not to scrape any trees on that side of the Jeep. However, when brushing trees there became impossible to avoid, I saw no ripping or tearing of the film at all. Pretty much looks exactly like it did before we left--and at least one trail was similar to a jungle, with way overgrown trees unavoidable on both sides. I am very impressed with its durability, especially when used contrary to instructions. Installation itself wasn't super hard, once I figured out how I would get it reversed from what the instructions said. I filled a spare spray bottle with water and a bit of baby shampoo, and used nearly the entire spray bottle—glad I had a window squeegee (a slightly smaller one would have been better). Definitely was a two person job to keep the film from sticking to itself (lots of spray helps with that too). If I was tinting a permanent window I wouldn't have been satisfied with my first attempt (a couple crinkles that I couldn’t smooth out), but since the top is now mostly duct tape anyway, I was fine with how the tint looked. I had assumed that I would use the 1/2 roll I saved to do it again when I returned from the trip, but it looks fine so I plan to keep my first try as long as I have to keep this damaged top on. I can’t attest to how easy this would have been had I really been trying to do it “right” and make it look professional, as I didn’t care about making this look perfect. ... show more

Color: 20% Limo Black Size: 24" x 6.5'
I’ve done this once for my dodge ram 2001 but it was fairly easy to do on my truck due to space my second time around was also fairly easy as it was done on another truck ford f150 2002 it works great only hassle is seperating the film it can either get wrinkled or tare incorrectly but for the price not bad def great for practice before spending the big bucks on the expensive stuff I’ve messed up on some but def didn’t hurt as much due to the price other than that I’d maybe get a slightly darker shade next time ... show more

  • Center Cardboard Tube Necessary
Color: 20% Limo Black Size: 24" x 6.5'
I purchased a roll of this to tint my two side windows on my truck. Ive tinted cars and buildings and have never failed. This particular tint I will never buy again. It crinkled easy when handeling it. And that part was terrible as it had no cardboard center tube. In trying to hold it and roll it accross the window to cut for length, solution applied so it sticks, the roll slid, fell to the ground, try to catch and crinkle, process went to sh t, and I threw it all away. My first fail at tinting, EVER! Put a cardboard tube in it so it can be held without crinkle squeezing it! This is common sence and a fail for society. I wish I could get my money back. Quality these days just doesnt exist. Got some new exec saving money by eliminating the tube, when he has never amatured applied tint. Some of us need the tube. Wouldnt let me submit without atleast 1 star. You get that so I can make my complaint report. ... show more

  • Decent starter tint, will have polarize effect with polarized glasses
Color: 35% Dark Smoke Size: 24" x 6.5'
This is a decent starter or economy tint to test and train with. The tint does cause colors to change with polarized sun glasses. Tint is easy to install and squeeze out soapy water with squeegee. Decent sun coverage and easy to cut with a sharp blade. The tint is thin and can crease over itself, so make sure to add a good amount of solution so it won’t fold into itself and stick to itself. Good value tint. ... show more

  • Dark, pretty easy to apply if you know what you are doing
Color: 20% Limo Black Size: 24" x 6.5'
this is pretty good stuff for the price. I have never installed window tint before, this was my first time. The only downfall I came across was pulling it apart, knowing which side is the side that goes against the window, and when pulling it off the window after pulling the clear (removable piece) off, static or the weight from the water (i don't know) brought it together, and the stick was hard to pull apart at that point, it would cause crinkles.. just got to be careful. Another thing was the fact that it is rolled up made it difficult to aplly because it wanted to go back to its rolled state, but I think that would happen with any brand of tint, just come that way. Other than that, like I said, good stuff for the price! Keeps the sun light at a minimum for my daughter in her car seat. ... show more

  • Thin but for the price, perfect
Color: 20% Limo Black Size: 24" x 6.5'
It is hard to work with so definitely buy extra, but overall when installed it looks good and seems to be decent quality. Not as dark as I expected but plenty dark to keep the car a bit cooler. 1 roll is enough to do about 2 normal sized windows but as I said buy extra because you will have to get used to the material. No complaints overall though ... show more

  • Two people and lots of solution.
I have worked with Gila Film on 14 windows. I found the easiest way to work with it is to use two people and lots of application solution. Wash you windows first. Terry wash the a second time leaving the window wet take a razor blade scraper to the window. Do not do this to your rear defroster. Wash the window a third time.I had the best results with a clean cotton cloth for each window . You cannot use too much solution as you apply the film. Two people makes the film easier to handle and 2 sets of eyes will help find any defects in the application. You can peel the film back and remove dust and air pockets then reapply the film with more application solution. I cannot emphasize the use of an abundance of application solution. ... show more
