Had 2 upright steel posts supporting a patio cover. One had minor rust, the other was in bad shape, rust had eaten through the paint over most of the post. On this post, I took a disk sander and stripped it down to metal. Then applied the product. Let dry for 3 days, lightly hand sanded then applied a second coat. Waited another 3 days. Then gave it 2 coats of exterior paint and primer. Existing rust turns dark grey and black. Looks well sealed. True test will be over the winter since it has some exposure to the elements. I initially got this becuase a trailer hitch was showing signs of rust. I sprayed it with this (zero effort - just get close and spray) and left it there. Supposed to wipe or rinse it off, but I figured rain would do that at some point. Did a great job. Rust gone and leaves like a black finish. Perfect for my application. Can paint now if I want. Also ednded up susing it on a few other rusted things - very powerful/strong. Don't need to use much at all. I still ahve most of the container. ... show more

I like the product, it did the job well, but had I not ordered too much, I would have been unable to complete the job. They left it to flop around in the box, this resulted in cap cracks and leaks before it got to me. Now they did put a 'leak bag' around it, but this product made it through that and messed with the label inks. Product alone is at least 4 star, and shipping a 2 star. ... show more

    • Rust just disappears
I have patio furniture I am refinishing. To start out I was doing the feet. I poured some in a cup. I have large swabs. I stabbed the feet. They weren't really bad. I had poured more than I needed, so I started using in other spots I wasn't ready to re-finish. I have some lounge chairs that are bad. The next day I checked all of the areas. It seemed as if the rust just disappeared. Even the lounge chairs!. I will have to remember to take photos before I apply more. This stuff is like magic!. Idk long term how this will hold up. The lounge chairs will be a true test. I had painted them 8 years ago. My whole set is about 18 years old. I may use the sprayer for the lounge chairs. Using rustoleum paints. After watching reviews I thought why not I sprayed the hood of an old car with lots of surface rust the whole hood went black it pealed paint a little bit. When I get ready I will Finnish the prep before I paint it
