They have you test it so you know it is waterproof. I wish the clear was really clear and not frosted. The buttons can be a little hard to push, say when doing a screen shot and pushing the power and volume buttons at the same time. Typing seems better than my old iphone 8 with tempered glass. Although the back button at the top left can be challenging, particularly when it is just the arrow that needs to be touched as well as the number one when typing numbers (same reason). But I was having these problems with the tempered glass and it let the screen crack. This is the first time I could use a finger nail to type. I find both regular and speaker phone easy to hear and at least my wife could hear me when I call her. (I user her Amazon account LOL) And as I just started really using the silent switch with any frequency, just before I got this phone, I probably won't use it now with the weird little membrane cover. Even thought there are replacements. Where will I put them that I will remember when I need them. The belt clip rubber is not glued in very well, if you use the clip re-glue it. Two have come this way. They Could just have offered it separately and save me some money. Ha Ha. I don't use the lanyard. I don't plan on going swimming with it. But I get caught in heavy rain sometimes. No drops yet to report on durability. The case seems stout enough, but not brick like like my old full Mophie battery case for my old 4S. I got it with the ghostek charger that hold the phone fine even though it is a little long for the 13 mini. ... show more

I’ve always used lifeproof fré cases and heard their most recent design changes ruined their case so I decided to look around. A lot of people recommended this case so I decided to take a shot at it. Overall the case is sturdy and has better grip then the fré. It seals everything nicely and you can tell just by the way it feels your phone will definitely be protected. As expected with any waterproof case the speaker phone mic is a bit washed out for whoever you’re talking to but I’ve had no issues with it not on speaker phone. The charging port seals well but I’m curious to see how it holds up over time. Luckily this new sets of phones has the mag charger on the back so I’ll probably never have to worry about it. The material used on the silent/ring switch seems okay but I’m also curious if that will hold up over time. The built in screen protector seals well and the touch response is fantastic! I took one star off because of the phone case carrying clip is pretty weak like everyone talks about in the reviews but that doesn’t affect the case at all if that’s all you want. The cost was actually pretty decent for this type of case and I was kind of surprised at how well made it is when I opened it. I tested GHOSTEK case for 1.0hr submerged in water. Opened it up and no water leaks were present inside the case. Case is comfortable to hold. I like the port cover because of the way it plugs into the power connector point. It is snug and secure! Although some force is required to pull the plug out along with finger nails grown out a little bit. On a positive note, the port plug isn’t one that is hinged to were it snaps in place and eventually stops working. As for the phone cradle, the phone does sit in the cradle snug and secure. When you insert your phone, you pull up on the top bar, which is spring loaded. You pivot your phone into place down to the bottom bar. Both upper and lower bars have a rubber cushion for your phone to sit into. Only problem I had with it was the rubber piece on the bottom bar that the phone sat on popped out of place. The mis-hap occurred when I was removing my phone from the cradle. My phone had dis-lodged the bottom rubber piece slightly and then it came on out. The bottom rubber piece has an ‘L’ shape to it. This allows it to be inserted and catch on the inside plastic of the cradle. I re-inserted it, but I took it out again and added super glue to keep it from coming out again. Update:: 04-14-22 I noticed water underneath the protective screen. The case on the right hand side cracked. Where the protective screen is connected to the plastic is the the crack occurred. ... show more

The case seems like it does the job protecting the phone very well, but there is a major flaw when it comes to sound coming from the phone. I understand and know it’s water proof so I am not going to be able to hear as well but the case actually vibrates when sound is coming out of the phone, you can literally feel it. The case is not right to the phone clearly and I think designing the case could have done a much better job. The little plastic part over the camera as well. It affects the camera quality on the 13 pro max. But other than those two major two it’s alright. ... show more
