I need a quality waterproof case for walking around outside in the rain (even if phones are now water resistant, I want to be extra careful) and this case has been great. We were going on a trip to Maui and had a lot of activities planned in a water rich environment. There was kayaking, beach time, and lots of floating on the pool while reading facebook and such. I wanted something to protect my phone from splashes or the occasional accidental drop. Overall, this was a good product. You just have to have a realistic perspective about your expectations. It’s not an everyday case for all situations and it’s not made for all day, everyday use nor is it made for prolonged snorkeling or deep water activity. It’s meant to provide a limited sphere of protection from casual exposure to water. I have to say, it does this well. You have to recognize going in that there are trade offs and no one gets everything. For example, the screen cover is meant to keep water out and it performs admirably at that job but it’s not glass; its a waterproof plastic shield. Because of this, it scratches easily when it rubs against hard objects or change in your pocket. To keep water away from your phone, it has to seal it off. It does that well but the trade off is that its a little bit harder to hear and a little bit harder to talk. The camera lens portion of the cover has a raise lip around it to keep it from rubbing on table surfaces when you put it down. That helps protect the plastic over the cover from scratching. I got fantastic pictures while this case was on my phone so there was almost no interference from the cover. When you’re done being around water, you might want to take this cover off and use your “around town” phone cover just like you might wear flip flops by the pool but wear nice shoes when you go out to dinner. I have to say that my phone got wet several times. I dropped it in the jacuzzi once and it even had a drink or two spilled on it and the case protected it from damage. I learned that I could fearlessly watch YouTube videos while floating on an inner tube in the pool and not worry about water getting on the phone. All in all, this case does exactly what it says it will do. I’m back from vacation and I won’t use it everyday but next time I’m headed for a fun environment that includes water, You can bet I;lol take this case out and put it on my phone. ... show more

I don’t leave negative reviews often, check my account. With that being said, I feel stupid for ignoring other reviews. I have been prepping six iPhones for our snorkeling trip with varying cases today and all have been great so far until I got to Ghostek. Just like a few previous reviews, I ran into the same problem of the case not sealing with the iPhone 12 Pro Max… now worried because I have a second Ghostek case for my other Pro Max. I have followed every step of “troubleshooting” with no change (opening plug cover to release excess air, cleaning everything, checking and rechecking seals…) and I am by no means one of those people that lacks common sense. I read countless reviews where I think, “eh, person probably did something wrong” or “they probably broke it being too rough”; And now, I ironically find myself in the position of trying to warn people this is not one of those reviews; I’m detailed and thorough and if I’d have done something wrong, my review would instead be written on what I did wrong and to warn others not to do the same. Instead, my warning is to expect possible issues with the seal and order a back up brand if you “need it now” like we do, because we are pretty much screwed if this case doesn’t work now. Phone case alone closes fine and passes the water test, but will not close with the phone in it. Noticed hazing/smearing on the inside of the case upon opening “new” and I wonder if this product has been handled by another customer prior. Looked closer and noticed the edges of the back piece, which secure around the seal, appear to be scratched/damaged slightly… but being I have no other alternatives as we are on a road trip, I hoped this would still work. 05/09/22 Current Overview on Opening and Install (dry use only so far) - Touchscreen is decent while dry, although not as grand a response as Catalyst (my fave, which was back ordered). - Darkens colors/brightness of the camera some, which is typical of majority waterproof cases, not a huge concern nor problem. * I still need to test it while snorkeling, to compare water activity on the screen, durability, underwater pictures/video quality and general functionality of use vs the three other brands. * For now, I don’t trust it with the appearance of poor sealing. Going to tread extremely carefully. I am leaving three stars for now due to the concern. I will update after it’s been tested in water with the phone. If it leaks, I will be contacting to return it. If it doesn’t leak, you’ll know in the update within 12 days (the end of our trip). ... show more

I really liked this case! The biggest issue is that people have trouble hearing me when I would call/answer, so I couldn’t use it anymore. Otherwise it was great.

I bought this because my last phone met an unfortunate end when it fell out of my sweatshirt pocket into my daughter’s bathtub. Pro: I’ve had the case for over a year and when I take my phone out it still looks completely new. That’s after many times dropping it and getting it wet. Con: The screen does scratch easily. I had to buy a second one after the phone accidentally got tossed into the same pocket of my purse as my keys. Also, the plug that covers the charger makes it hard for people to hear me, so I have to unplug it when I’m taking in the phone. We paid full price for my phone, so the cons are a small price to pay to keep it from being damaged. I just ordered 2 more, since they are in sale right now, so I can try to get a couple more years out of this phone. ... show more
