I found out that the conventional Kevlar chainsaw safety chaps do not work with the new electric chain saws. This is because the old protection assumes that if you choke the chain and stop it for even a moment then the next power stroke does not happen. In an electric saw, there is torque. It will keep turning until you release the trigger. With good foot protection this is probably adequate for protection from an e-saw. I was very happy with the sturdiness, the stainless steel is what sold me. I don’t need the arm guards but if you have a child helping you cut wood then they can wear them just like Dad. Still, be careful.

5 stars mainly because they are very easy to put on and take off. The stetchable straps are velcro so all you have to do is to loop each strap thru the opening, press against the velcro and you are good to go. I use them during the hot summer since I already have an armored motorcycle jacket for colder weather. More protection with metal and sometimes I leave them on when I go shopping. Other shoppers would stare at them and it makes me feel like I am "Bad to the Bone". I also polish the steel to make me look like a knight in "shining armor". Kool product and the stetchable straps make them comfortable to wear. Aug 2018 Update: I find this product more useful than my motorcycle pants because it allows me to wear any pants I want. I did modify it to make it easier to attach and remove by using a set of "Wake Cover Tie Down Straps". I just "snap" to attach and "pinch" to release.

I never put these to the test because I bought these to mountain bike in and they were just uncomtorble and slide a lot when I tried them on. So I returned them but they seemed very sturdy and I believe that they would have done a good job protecting my knees and elbows.

Really no need to pay 50-100 or more for pads. These are great! The fit is actually really comfortable. I would rather wear these anyway over the fancy robot leg covers!

These things are absolutely horrible A thin flimsy metal plate that cant even keeps its safe or form just from kneeling in it. I kneeled down to grab my water and the plastic chipped off and the metal dented immediately I got these to slide in at a haunt and I could barely kneel in them.... I immediately took them off after that first kneel... I cant imagine they would actually protect someone riding... Im so mad I wasted my time and money on these.. I was so excited to try these out... And it was such a letdown...
