It took me forever to find a water dispenser that was easy to clean! I’ve had this for a few months with no signs of rusting, I’m pleased with it. The plastic lip is not needed if you use 5 gallon plastic water jugs like I do. I wash it every jug or every other jug with either a denture tablet soak or a little bleach. After about 2 months of use the bottom spider cracked. I kept wondering how my stand kept getting damp and moldy. I replaced the seal and everything. Finally I saw very small cracks throughout the bottom.

The spigot leaked on the first crock we ordered, so we returned it and ordered a replacement. That spigot leaked as well, and we returned the replacement. It's a shame, but we'll look elsewhere for a ceramic water crock that works.
