    • Fixed my current drop problem
When I measured Cold Cranking Amps at the battery, I got the rated value. When I measure CCA using the engine block as ground, I get a 50% drop in CCA. I checked using several points as ground, same drop. Narrowed it down to this ground strap, the only path from the battery to the car frame. Apparently, older cars have two straps. I could see no issues with the bolt, washer, or body contact area. The original 15 year old strap did look oxidized, but no obvious corrosion. I tossed it my heap of "faulty parts I want to investigate later". So I replaced this strap, and now I get full CCA measured with engine block ground. ... show more
