New model just out. Has some improvements over the 440 Pro even though it has a belt and lead screw instead of the lead screw and dual linear shafts like the 440 Pro has. Belts are not a problem if you keep the tension adjusted right, and keep them clean. This 4040 Reno supports the 4-axis option, a device available separately that you can see in the photo in the listing. So, in addition to the 3-axis of the 4040 which is lift up and down, movement to the right and left, and thirdly front to back, the 4th axis with the optional piece also allows you to turn the work piece like on a lathe giving you creative spindle control which is just another step into creativity. It is not necessary to have that 4th axis whereas 90+ percent of your work types don’t require it. It’s just nice to know the option is available. Use it the way it comes out of the box, but as you get accustomed to the machine you may want to tweak the girdle settings. It moves from different positions very slowly. Transit times set a little more abruptly will save time. Overall, it is a very quiet and smooth-running machine. Professional conduct in an entry level CNC category. I have the laser model but this 4040 Genmitsu has the plug for the laser module which is an optional piece of equipment. Those lasers come in 5 watt and 10-watt configurations. You can also upscale this with for example a Makita router which requires a larger spindle that is also an option. All in all a really nice CNC that makes it affordable. ... show more

This CNC router milling machine is incredibly well designed and well made. It is easy to set up, program, and operate. It is 4-axis capable. The capabilities are truly impressive for this price point. It is generously sized with a 16-inch x 16-inch XY working area. The Z-axis working depth is just over 3-inches. You can certainly pay a lot more for a machine loke this, but I doubt you're going to find a better value anywhere. ... show more
