Features

  • The V2 is an upgraded version of one of our best selling Desktop CNC Machines, the 3018-PROVer. Class leading value has gotten even better and is easier than ever before to setup. With more pre-assembled accessories, it takes less than 20 minutes to assemble this 3018-PROVer V2 CNC machine. A real entry-level CNC for anyone who wants to learn a new skill, work on an artwork project, design a DIY gift, or start a small business.
  • Still based on open-source Grbl v1.1, the 3018-PROVer V2 CNC has stepped up to more powerful but silent Toshiba TB6S109 drivers with 32-bit chips. More extended function ports were added, such as the Air Assistance Pump Port, and MPG Port. It also supports updating the firmware through an SD card.
  • The redesigned Z Axis Carriage has fixed excess movement which came from the old design anti-backlash spring. Not only did this improve the engraving accuracy, but also increased the effective range of the Z Axis from 35mm to 40mm. All stepper motors are equipped with manual jog wheels making it easy to adjust and position your spindle or stock material.
  • The 3018-PROVer V2 CNC Machine comes with a one-piece machined and molded aluminum spoilboard. It ensures the flatness and strength of the work platform. It is compatible with most of the CNC clamps on the market.
  • CAD/CAM software to design then convert your ideas into instructions (GCode) that the router can understand and execute (common options are Carveco, Fusion360, and Easel). If you get stuck, check out the SainSmart Resource Center (see at User Guide) or contact us with any questions that arise.

  • The Best Entry Level Tool…Ever
Style: With Offline Controller
The media could not be loaded. I bought my SainSmart Genmitsu 3018 ProVer v2, June 28, 2023. I can’t imagine a better entry level CNC unit, for beginners and hobbyists. I included a recent video of the unit just beginning a prototype carve, and also a pic of the finished prototype on mdf. After a couple of setup changes, I’ll carve the final plaque on a nice hardwood piece. The setup for this CNC machine was very easy because of pre-assembly of the wiring harness to the system board and other components. Nothing was missing and the small parts were extremely well marked and organized. Everything went together perfectly. The setup and initial use documentation was exceptional and perfectly helpful. This CNC machine has performed perfectly and is EXACTLY as SainSmart claimed in their marketing. I have upgraded the unit with a longer Y-axis and a more powerful spindle-motor. Both upgrades went flawlessly. The engineering and construction of this unit and add-on parts is perfect. I have needed to reach out to SainSmart support a couple of times for help on something that was my fault. SainSmart Support is outstanding in every way; easy to contact (email in my case), very quick to respond, knowledgeable reps, and the same rep stays with me throughout whatever “thing” I’m working through. Simply excellent support and obviously a well run business. I give this product and the SainSmart company my highest possible rating and recommendation. ... show more

  • Great little CNC Machine
Style: With Offline Controller
Very satisfied with machine. Customer service is excellent. I had questions when I got machine. Customer service got back to be right away and resolved my issues. As a beginner I love this product. Easy assembly. Took a while to learn how to use my first cnc, but customer service was also very helpful with that too. I highly recommend this cnc machine. ... show more

  • Don't do it; just don't
Style: With Offline Controller
First let me say that this product is VERY deceiving. I ordered this bundle of the 3018-PROVer v2 with the brushless motor. I watched several YouTube videos before I decided to buy. In those videos, they show it coming with a nice variety of bit. Well first let me say that the brushless motor shipped separate & from the opposite side of the USA. It was not a bundle or a kit at all. After arrival, I found that the directions do NOT match what I had purchased. The website & Amazon show different stuff other than what I received. In my opinion, they aren’t compatible. Next up is the fact they give you a bunch of soft wood bits. All are the same, so you’re forced to immediately buy more. Then once they arrive, you learn that they only gave you 1 of 15 collets! That’s more parts you have to buy. Throw on a spill board, dust shoe, and you’ve just about got $500 in a “beginner” machine… which for me doesn’t work or spin up. I never even got to try a test piece. This has left me with buyer’s remorse and I’m returning it all! All this waiting only to have disappointment after disappointment arrive to me. I can’t suggest this product or name brand to anyone! Sorry, but move on and don’t think twice! -- UPDATE: Support just emailed me and let me know that I would have to SOLDER points onto the board to make the brushless motor work! Who sells a kit that doesn't work and requires advanced modifications like that!? They do! Here you go, some soldering and modification required! ... show more

  • Nice CNC but mounting plate could be better
Style: With Offline Controller
It seems like the better offering from Genmitsu should come with the better t-slotted mounting plate but it doesn't. I'm not sure what justifies the higher price for this machine. With the mounting plate it comes with, it can be hard or impossible to find a position where the mounts can properly hold the work piece. Other than that, it works great for me and the assembly instructions are clear and easy to follow. One suggestion I have is to remove don't install the acrylic side panels. They get in the way when you need to mount your work piece to the bed. ... show more

  • Very well thought out packaging and assembly. Very clear instructions.
Style: With Offline Controller
I am surprised at how well this was put together for the price. Assembly only took about 15 minutes. All of the fasteners came in a nice plastic case instead of the loose bags that I was expecting. It was already cable managed with mesh sleeve over all of the wires. I still need to get better with using it but I was able to get it working within a couple of hours. Feeds and speeds will definitely be the most difficult part. All of the required tools were even included. ... show more

  • Good price.... now
Style: With Offline Controller
I paid 350 for this a year or two ago. It's a good little starter unit, but the spindle is super weak. If you get this, might as well order the 710 65mm router motor, because the spindles that come with it, or upgraded replacement spindles are horrible. I would have bought a better cnc if I knew i was going to enjoy the hobby as much as i do. I even upgraded all the guide rails, and z axis and it's still just okay. This thing can't even touch aluminum without some serious modification. Good unit, but much better stater cncs out there at a reasonable price. ... show more

  • Works for small projects
Style: Without Offline Controller
With a lot of patients and persistence this works wonderful. I’m able to carve on wood, cast acrylic and small coins with much effort. Most of the learning curve is in the software that you have to use to get it to work and the learning curve is a bit steep for that. It’s accurate with little wobble. It’s not going to cut metal parts so .001 accuracy it will not do. Motor is under powered but if you go slow enough it works well. ... show more
