I ordered this size mat to place on either side of my island and in front of a cabinet wall. They fit perfectly. These are the areas I stand the most when cooking, so I wanted mats that would give me a buffer between our tile floor and my problem feet. I have plantar fasciitis and bone spurs, and I do a lot of cooking for our nonprofit that provides free meals in rural areas near us. These mats allow me to stand and cook all day without pain. They are very, very comfortable. They don't slide or move around as all other mats I have tried. The tops are not slick, so I can move quickly without fear of slipping. This is great for safety. They stay in place. I have black-patterned granite counters and white cabinets. These black mats look great in our kitchen. I like these so much, I may order some for our bathrooms (in pretty patterns--not black).

I thought I would probably hate the way it looks and I was thinking I would just put it down when I’m cooking or baking. I was surprised that it doesn’t look bad at all. It’s so great for back pain. At first I was just going to buy the 20x36, but I ended up buying the 20x72. I’m so glad I went with the bigger one. It’s like walking and standing on a cloud. I think maybe heaven will be paved with Gelpro.. I would highly recommend this and Amazon had the best price.

The price is worth it. This mat is so over the top comfortable to stand on, my feet and back felt relief immediately. . .so much so I ordered another one for the other side of my kitchen & yet another to place in front of the stove. I have had Gel Pro mats for 12-1/2 years in the kitchen. After many years of use, the old ones wore out around the edges and in places cracked (slit) on the top. . .. not too much, but enough to transport them to the basement for continued use. However, this new "Pro" design is over the top fantastic. The edges will not curl. It is thicker, much better designed with more cushioning than the old ones. It's probably going to save money on chiropractic appointments and/or body work.

I stumbled upon this mat while aboard a customer aircraft for maintenance. While walking aft to one of the cabin windows I stepped on this mat in the galley which resulted in me disappearing for 15 minutes. It is very firm, yet very soft and soothing at the same time. It has a very high price point, but for the comfort of my feet and joints I have found it worth it. I elected to purchase 2 of them (1 for my kitchen and one for a friends kitchen).

I bought two, the 72" and 36", to form an L shape in my kitchen. My wife and I have been using them every day for more than two months, and they still look and feel brand new. They're easy to clean with soapy water. Aesthetically, the color and pattern are perfect for our kitchen. Functionally, they're filled with plastic gel and are very dense and heavy weight, which is why they are so comfortable to stand on. They're well made and appear to be very durable. Time will tell. The only negative is that they move a little on our porcelain tile floor after being walked on for a few days, but that's an easy fix with a little double-sided tape. Otherwise, 5 stars. Sure, there are lots of less expensive mats out there. But these are the best. You get what you pay for and these were worth every penny because they keep my wife happy. Happy wife, happy life!

Purchased the gelato elite 20x36 for the kitchen sink area. Like it so much I decided to purchase the 20x72 for the sink area and place the other size in front of the stove. It is really comfortable and makes standing less difficult especially if you have spine problems. One thing though is that it is higher than a normal rug/mat so you must remember to step up due to the slanted edge. If you are a person who tends toward a "shuffle" type style of walking, then it is really important not to trip on the mat. My own experience due to arthritis has caused me to not lift my feet as high as I used to when walking. As a result, I have almost tripped several times because I forgot to lift my feet when approaching the mats in front of the sink and stove. But I still like standing on them and one can feel where the preponderance of one's weight is placed upon one's feet as that portion of the foot tends to sink into the mat. I suspect that is why it can provide some comfort for those who have difficulty standing for periods of time. The smaller mat does move a bit just as other reviewers noted.
