They worked and fit well, at least the four I used did. Had to change two brake lines on my car and these worked perfectly. Nice finish, feels good in hand. 15 degree angle works well in a tight area. Being it is a 6 point, you do need a couple of inches of room to adjust wrench back onto flare nut. Pricey. I am very pleased with the quality of this Gearwrench wrench set. I purchased this wrench set because I was removing the rubber brake line hoses on my car and replacing them with braided stainless steel hoses. This wrench from this set that I needed to use gripped the soft metal hose fittings very well and did not damage them (which would have been a potentially very costly fix as the fittings are attached to the metal brake fluid supply lines running from the car's ABS unit to each wheel well). Tired of cheap, Harbor Freight etc, line flare wrenches that actually spread open/widen when you attempt to break loose an old tight brake line nut? Only to then of course have the line wrench spin around the nut, causing it to round off the corners? I was, so I finally invested a few extra well spent dollars on this Gearwrench flare wrench set and have not found a clutch or brake line that this Gearwrench flare wrench set wasn't able to break loose with out damaging the nut. The wrenches securely into the blown plastic molded storage case . The wrenches have a high quality smooth finish and design. The wrenches are thicker than cheaper wrenches which is one of the reasons they don't spread open like cheaper wrenches. ... show more

These flex flare nut wrench saved me so much grief, headaches, pain, frustration, and time. I should have went and got these before starting out on rebuilding the brake booster of my BMW 850 V12. The 850 V12 (e31) is notoriously known for leaking brake boosters and the O-ring and oil seal inside the booster must be replaced. This is no easy task. It's very time consuming and laborious. It requires disassembling a number of parts, removing the brake master cylinder, and the intake manifolds. While I got most parts out, I was not able to get the flare nuts of the brake lines into the master brake cylinder out. The nuts started rounding off. I used penetrant fluid, lubricating oil, you name it. I went to a local automotive supply shop and got some cheap flare wrench. Those were cheap is all I can say. Finally, I caved in and ordered these online. Why I didn't order them before was because I thought I could save time by running to the auto parts store. Shipping on these wrenches came to my house within 3 days but I was impatient. I paid for that. Anyways, if you're working on delicate nuts and rounding out nuts would mean expensive and time consuming repair bills, consider these. I was able to loosen the nuts that I had almost destroyed using other wrenches (which include vise grips too). ... show more

Being a home garage mechanic with more tools than my wife knows about, I am impressed with the quality and fit of this set. I have used this set to do everything from brake lines, to A/C connections and the fit is perfect. I have a set of Snap on wrenches and these are very similar in fit and finish. I wont/cant compare strength of this set to snap on wrenches as I haven't broken either yet (hopefully never), but I have not seen any flexing in these tools either.     • Don’t don’t do another brake job without buying these
Let me start by saying this: i am not a professional mechanic. I do however have half a dozen vehicles that i repair and maintain, so i know a good tool when I see/ use one. There are a ton of tool companies out there and it’s honestly true; you get what you pay for. These are gear wrench so you know they will be a good tool. However they have completely blown my expectations away. If you are on amazon looking for tools, let’s face it. You’re not buying off the tool truck. This is the next best thing. The fit on these wrenches is so good they broke when the rustiest flare nuts loose on my 99 Jeep after the rust was knocked off with a screw driver. The swivel heads also make them versatile and able to fit in tight areas. These are a no brainer if you’re in the market for line wrenches. ... show more
