Description

GEARWRENCH original Ratcheting wrenches combine the speed of a ratchet with the access and control of a wrench. They offer the ease of 5 degrees of movement to turn fasteners, versus 30 degrees on standard combination wrenches. The small Ratcheting box end Head design enables access to tight spots where a ratchet won't fit. The open end allows for easier access on tough to reach spots, making jobs go faster and easier. This set is a great addition to any mechanic tools collection.

Should I Buy It?

Given the overwhelmingly positive reviews and very minor cons, it's safe to say that these wrenches are a worthy investment for both professional and home use. Despite a few hiccups with packaging and lack of color coding, their solid construction, remarkable durability, and great value for the price make them a strong buy.

  • Absolute bargain price for these quality wrenches
I already had some ratcheting wrenches that I bought years ago at a yard sale. Consequently, the assortment was by no means complete. Buying the missing sizes I needed almost every time I was working on something, it seemed, was going to be an expensive proposition. A neighbor of mine received this exact set of these GearWreches some years ago as a Christmas present from his wife, and she paid a whole lot more for them at that time. This set is an absolute steal for the price. I've also already ordered a couple more of the sizes that aren't included in the set piecemeal to fill in the gaps. These are just what's needed when working on something where the nut/bolt you're trying to remove/reinstall is in a place where a socket simply won't fit or you don't have quite enough room move the ratchet or where using a non ratcheting box wrench would be slow and tedious. ... show more

  • Great value for metric and standard
You wont find anythin better then this. These are good quality wrenchens you will loose the wrench before it breaks. This is the style of ratching wrenches the have to be flipped over to change the direction and not the ones with the small tab to change direction.

  • 20+ years on my last set! These will perform great as always.
Buy these! You wont regret it! I have used a gearwrench set with the 90° twist for over 20 had 2 finally fail on me. I decided to try the duratech brand on amazon. And instantly regretted it. Opened the package and had damage. They were cery poor craftsmanship. Sent them back immediately and bought these. I know these will perform excellent! ... show more

  • Have These in My Hands Almost Every Day
I do DIY projects on motorcycles and cars all the time. Whether I need them or not, they come out for almost every project. I use these wrenches always. They are a pleasure to use. They are well made and make installing and removing bolts so much easier than using a regular combination wrench. Because of the ratchet feature, these save quite a lot of time and frustration of removing a wrench and repositioning it just to move a bolt another 1/8 turn. They are priced fairly as opposed to similar ones of a professional grade. I can't imagine not having a set of these in my tool chest. ... show more

  • Good value tools, TERRIBLE packaging
This is a great set of tools for the money, however there should probably be a discount for the frustration the packaging puts you through when trying to free the tools. It'd be one thing if it was a useful organizer to hang or store them, but it really is not. Aside from that, these are nice tools. The construction is solid and the finish on my set is flawless. The ratcheting mechanism feels solid and engages securely and reliably. It doesn't sound as nice as some of the better ratcheting mechanisms I've used, but it feels good. There are areas these could be better, such as indicating the ratcheting direction or having colored markings indicating metric or SAE. That said, I'm a home user and not generally swapping out between multiple tools or grabbing for things quickly or likely to not need to spin the ratchet in my hand to make sure I have it going the right way anyway. If they could get in on some of that 'frustration free' packaging, I'd say these are perfect. ... show more

  • Great wrenches
The feel good in the hand. The sizing is dead on, no sloppy fitment on hardware. The ratchet is also very clicky and satisfying with minimal degrees of movement needed to advance to the next tooth.
