I love this book shelf for many reasons! It’s fun for baby to spin, easy for my to spin around and grab different books while sitting in the rocking chair with baby, perfect height for setting things on top. Baby loves to pull the books out and spin it around. It was very easy to build. It holds a lot of books. The wood is a glossy wood so definitely can’t paint over it which I was wondering when I first ordered it. It comes with a round lace cover for the top of it but I didn’t use it. There are screw tops coming out the top but it’s not a big deal. I don’t even notice them with all the things I normally put on it. I thought the engineering of the wood pieces quite clever. There were pictures of assembly, but no real instructions. You have to put the screws in from the bottom by rotating the wood to find the holes. It was easy to assemble if you have experience in putting things together. The shelves aren’t very deep so the books fall off. The edges are also unfinished and the screw holes are in very visible places like the top of the unit. They send a cheap shelf liner to cover the top and the screws and it looks tacky
