  • YOU HAVE TO GET THE AIR OUT OF THE TANK OR THIS ADAPTER WILL NOT WORK.
Style: With switch and meter
Be careful of the videos you watch. I was a plumber for over 20 years. Air and gas work the same as air and water. they DON'T WORK WELL TOGETHER! hook up the adapter. Turn your tank upside down. Turn on the big tank then turn on the ball valve to the small tank. You will need a needle nose pliers. You will hear the gas flow for a few seconds. Pull up the releif valve on the small green tank until you see the white gas. Let it go so more gas can enter the tank. This will release the air so the gas can flow. Continue this process about 3 times. You want about 1 lb of gas. Use a scale. Should be 1lb for the tank 1lb for the gas. That's it. Takes maybe 3 to 4 minutes to fill your small tank. ... show more

  • Works well but keep in mind.....
Style: With switch and meter
Purchased the model with the valve and gauge. It works well with no leaks that others have experienced. A couple of things to note when using this. First, the 1lb tank will only receive the liquid LP until the pressure in the 1lb tank gets high enough to stop the flow so it is recommended to "purge" the 1lb tank of all remnant gas before filling to allow more liquid to transfer in on the first cycle. Chances are after the first cycle, less than 1lb of LP has been filled into the tank. After trying different methods I have found that the quickest method is to fully purge before the first fill. Fill and remove and place in the freezer to cool the LP and the gas (15-20min). Reconnect and fill again. This might seem tedious, but when your 1lb tank costs $1 vs. $5, its worth it. Plus the insane amount of waste created with all of the empty 1lb tanks going to the trash. One thing to keep in mind...as far as I have read, it is dangerous to fill beyond 1lb of LP as liquid LP can get into the appliances it is being used with which is a fire hazard. I purchased a cheap scale on Amazon to take weights so to not overfill. ... show more

  • DEFECTIVE PRODUCT !
Style: With switch and meter
This propane refill adapter was defective from the start. It leaked at the connection point for the 20# tank. After a discussion with the product manufacturer and sending photos they pointed out that the gasket for the device at the tank was in fact there so it should not leak. After further discussion they offered me $5.00 as a gesture for the defective product. For a product that was way more than that for a purchase price. I had asked for a full refund. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT! UPDATE: They have now offered me a full refund! ... show more

  • Not sure if it works ....
Style: With switch and meter
I haven't been able to get this to work yet, but I'm hoping to soon. Some folks states it doesn't work, but I might be doing something wrong. Therefore, I will revisit this review at a later date.

  • Awesome
Style: With switch and meter
Works great as long as you freeze the smaller container first. I had tried at room temperature 1st time, so only filled 1 lb can about 10%. Did not purge 1 lb can. Put it in freezer for 20 minutes and tried again, it filled to 50%. I am convinced thst if you follow the purge, freeze, fill method that this adapter would work better ... show more
