  • Started right up and feels like a good quality
Seems like a good saw for the money. Started right up. Cut down a couple small trees (about 10 inches thick) and cut them up. They were live trees and the saw worked and ran very well. Not sure about long term but happy so far.

  • So far, so good.
I didn't have high expectations for this chainsaw because of the price. The assembly was super easy and the instructions were very good. I used it once so far to cut up a large tree. I've gone thru two tanks of gas. It's a great saw. Starts on the 2nd or 3 pull and it's very strong. I'm very happy with the purchase so far. ... show more

  • Thoughts after a month
Purchased (reluctantly) after an Ice-Apocalypse to take care of the fallen trees in the yard. I was hoping to avoid some of the maintenance when it comes to a gas-powered saw, but after the electric chainsaw lasted a day (no joke) cutting up Ash Trees, I figured this was a reasonable risk. The instructions are bleeping terrible. After muddling my way through the initial assembly, I needed to acquire consumables - 2-cycle oil, "clear" gas, and bar lube. So far so good. The initial ratio recommended in the manual says to do a 20:1 ratio for the first 20 hours; I've not gotten through the first few gallons of fuel, much less 20 hours. However, this thing consumes fuel, engine oil, and chain lube rapidly. First time I started it with little to no problem. Second time, it would not start. Read comments, find someone speaking about spark plug gap. Okay, sure. I pull out the replacement plug, make sure the gap is good, install it, and it starts up happily. Take a look at the spark plug I pulled out, and it had a great deal of schmutz already. With the Oil/Fuel ratio recommended, it seems that will be the case for a while -_- The blatant knock off of a Stihl chain appears decent(ish). My primary use this for ripping cuts, so picked up a Granberg G7288-76DL (.325 X .058 RIPPING CHAIN 76DL), and this tears through the fallen Ash. But the oil fouling of the plugs - very annoying. I pretty much have to clean them after each tank of fuel. UGH! I'm still hopeful that I can find a reasonable electric saw, as the fouling of the plug and the need for additional consumables is rather tiresome :/ ... show more

  • For the cost, well worth it
This saw performed very well. Once I figured out how to get the chain on it was a breeze. laying it on its side and trying to install chain didn't work. then I sat it on it's bottom and installed the chain in one minute. This thing was a horse today. put two tanks of gas through and it cut beautifully. This saw also started flawlessly. I would recommend it for sure. I paid a little over 100 dollars and paid much more for a ryobi that didn't work nearly as well. Get it, you should not be disappointed. ... show more

  • Totally unstable saw/engine.
Saw was a very good weight. Surprisingly good knock-off Stihl chain (and hard/sharp), decent bar, started very easily, broke in for a while, used it to cut up some logs, literally 5-10 minutes into sawing the saw blasted smoke in all directions and the engine appears to have seized. Also, it is worth noting that when the saw arrived it was missing the "dogs" that help it bite into the log. They shipped a new set very quickly and responded quickly in all fairness. The product just does not live up to the hype, nor is it reliable. I give it 4 stars for weight and assembly ease, however, as a product it is a zero-star product from a functional point of view. I would not reccomend this product to anyone. I am very experienced with a chain saw, professionally in the past and now I cut up large logs for firewood. I will note for the 5-10 minutes it ran, it ran beautifully. It really did smoke, like on the old Mission Impossible series when the tape destructs. ... show more

  • great saw for the money
Could not believe how inexpensive this was, so was wary. But so far, so good. Probably used it 10 times and fires right up each time. Came with little gas/oil mixing can, which I like a lot.

  • First day review
The media could not be loaded. So I wanted to test all these good reviews out it’s a cheap saw so I wasn’t gonna be sad if it exploded and I had a project I needed done and my husqvarna 435 wasn’t quite big enough for the job I put this thing together right out of the box in a few minutes had no issues with parts used pre mix 50:1 I filled it with fluids started right up 3 pulls I let it run for maybe 30 seconds till I could see some oil getting on the chain then I went to town on that tree full throttle all the way until I was done I did not stop!! To cut this tree down I had to fill up 7 times re tension the chain 5 times fill up with chain oil 3 times Some things I will note is this thing is twice as loud as my 435 almost sound’s straight piped and it drinks gas but other than that I’m really impressed with the saw. I skipped the break in and honestly I didn’t think it was gonna last even that tree cause I was so hard on it but will see how long it lasts and I’ll get back with ya! For now I’m giving it a 5 star Edit- so this is after using the saw to cut multiple trees down this is what I have to say. Great saw good power but the air cleaner might aswell not be on it very poor design after cutting the very first tree the whole inside of the filter was dusty and inside of the carb was caked with dirt very disappointing I’m mechanically inclined so I rigged up an adapter to fit a good filter problem solved. If you don’t put a good filter on it it’s not gonna last. Throw away the crappy stock filter!!! since I’ve done the air cleaner upgrade I’ve had no problems now I give it a 4.5 star for the inconvenience ... show more

  • Starts but does not idle
The chainsaw was easy to assemble, everything worked fine except for after the initial start up it will not stay idling. I followed all the instructions but I have to keep my finger on the throttle to keep it running. I was very disappointed with this. i reached out and has not gotten any kind of assistance as how to proceed to get a resolution. ... show more
