  • Great upgrade for Garmin fitness band wearers
Style: Standard Color: Slate and Shadow Gray
Got this brand new model because my Vivosmart 4 watch band finally broke. I didn't really want to go back to a watch form factor after wearing bands for many years. But this one is super light weight and I can wear it anywhere, even in the water. The battery lasts for days. You can download the Connect IQ app and customize the watch, including adding new features and faces. Interestingly, you can create a custom face in both the IQ app, and on the watch itself, although the options are not the same and results are not consistent. Pros: - Great screen, highly visible in varying light - Good battery life. Much better than the old vivosmart 4, seems like at least a week. - GPS - seems to work well enough on walks/runs I've done. - Nice selection of exercises built in. I've only used walk/run/swim so far. The app has been trying to get me to upload personalized running plans and workouts. Just haven't got to that yet either. - User interface is _mostly_ easy to use, once you figure it out. Cons - Extra info on faces (steps, heartbeat etc), and user interface has very small fonts. It's not a big device after all. But those of us who can't focus up close have a hard time seeing the small things without the glasses - Another weird charger connector. Next version should be able to charge wirelessly. Those other guys do it. - The included band is pretty utilitarian and I already see wear around where the buckle rubs on it. At least it's replaceable with standard sized bands. Overall I am happy with this watch so far. ... show more

  • Wow...I'll never buy fitbit again.
Style: Standard Color: Slate and Shadow Gray
Fantastic watch and battery life. The data captured is spot on with my LifeFitness equipment. Fitbit's heart rate was never accurate. This fine watch is extremely accurate...all the time. The watch face is clearly visible. Many watch faces to choose from on the fly....you can load many watch faces on the actual watch and toggle between them. The amount of data available to you seems endless. The Garmin Connect App was a little buggy syncing at first until I updated the watch to the latest firmware. All is great. The data is laid out in a very nice easy to read manner. Lot's to see if you want to see it. The Garmin Connect IQ app allows you to download custom watch faces which allow you to choose what fields you want to see on the watch face...ex Heart rate, Calories burnt, Distance, Weather/Temperature, battery life, steps...etc. Very versatile piece that is the most accurate watch that I've had so far. 11 + day battery life...and I use this thing all the time. I would definitely buy this again. ... show more

  • Excellent Battery Life!
Style: Standard Color: Slate and Shadow Gray
I chose the Garmin because the reviews said the charge could last up to 11 days. It actually delivers on its promise! If you turn continuous pulse ox monitoring off, it will last more than a week with light-medium use. A good way to save on battery life is to do most of your stat-checking through the app. The square shape makes sense to me, and this one is just the right size for my small wrist. I'm not a fan of silicone bands, so I immediately bought a new one. The app is not the most user-friendly one, but once you get used to it, it's okay. All the monitoring and tracking functions seem to work well. Functionality is why I chose this watch over cheaper brands. I have tried an inexpensive brand or two, and I always had problems with inaccuracy and missing notifications. Garmin does have an app store where you can download most of the extras found on other smart watches. It's pretty basic on its own, but I think that's part of why the battery lasts. ... show more

  • Good choice for a new smartwatch owner
Style: Standard Color: Slate and Shadow Gray
This is my second Venu Sq, had the original Sq first, it had a lot of function problems. So I returned it and decided to go with the Venu Sq 2, since I liked the design and did not need as many features that were on other models. I does pretty good for my needs. The lack of a hiking app was dealt with a non-Garmin app. But with activities such as walking, hiking, even timer... there is not always a quick route to start. The watch does not always go right to the start function to begin tracking. And there is a lag time for some notifications. Over all I am pretty satisfied with my watch. It is stylish and battery lasts a week plus before needing to charge. ... show more

  • Fully functional for all things
Love all the things it tells me about my health, activities and lifestyle habits. It’s helping me to better understand how my sleep fuels my day, when to slow down to conserve energy and helpful with activity output and measurements. I have t yet synced with music and payment but that’s next. Comfortable watch to wear full time. Great battery longevity for what I need. Very happy with my purchase. ... show more

  • Awesome watch
Style: Standard Color: Slate and Shadow Gray
It has a great heart rate monitor. O2 sensor is like 5 points off every time. The gps is very accurate. The music control works great. The refresh rate of the screen when scrolling in the menu is not as good as it should be. But it doesn't bother me. THE BATTERY LIFE LASTS OVER 11 DAYS. IDK, I personally think this was 100% value for the money. ... show more

  • SO much better than Fitbit
Style: Standard Color: Slate and Shadow Gray
I had three different Fitbits and liked them. I switched to Garmin after buying a "new" Charge 4 and finding it was actually used. I am SO glad I switched. My Garmin has much more information, lasts twice as long on one charge, and seems to be more accurate. The only thing I don't like as much is the app - it is difficult to find information and the information displayed keeps changing (and I don't know why). I recommend it! ... show more

  • GREAT battery life; awesome fitness tracker
Style: Standard Color: Slate and Shadow Gray
I'm a big fan of Garmin fitness watches. The Venu Sq2 is my third Garmin - the prior two still work, but I needed more battery life now I've started to do more cycling. I also didn't want to spend a small fortune on the watch. The Venu Sq2 has a lot of bang for the buck. The battery lasts for a week even with multiple cycling trips. Some nice improvements I noticed: - The display is crisper than prior watches - even on dim, I have no problem reading the face. - The Venu recognizes sleep hours and does not light up when I move my wrist (my husband appreciates not being blinded by the watch in the middle of the night!) Like my other Garmin watches, it's waterproof, tracks my steps, and workout intensity. ... show more
