A great idea that just doesn't pan out very well. Head up display is a great feature every car ought to have, and this seems like the solution. BUT two major problems make it nearly useless: (i) It has no battery and is powered by a cord that plugs into your A/C outlet. Unless you have a unique car that has such an outlet on the dash, you're going to have a clumsy wire draping down from the top of your instrument cluster down to your center console, or wherever that A/C outlet is found. Definitely buy some electrical tape so you can keep the wire from flopping all around, and prepare to ruin the appearance of your car's interior. Solution: Put a battery in the darned thing, so it only has to be plugged in when charging. (ii) it ties up your Bluetooth so you can't use your Bluetooth connection in your car. I don't know whether you can get it to also connect to a bluetooth headset or hands-free device, but certainly the next buyer needs to confirm that. Bottom line, if you have a new car, you probably don't want this device. Which is a shame, because unfortunately they still make few cars with HUD. Oh, by the way one other consideration: Anyone who has ever had a radar detector knows that if a cop sees that, he's going to single you out for special torture. This thing looks exactly like a radar detector. So...good luck with that. ... show more
