That he does not like as he's not smartphone capable (he's 77); so mom does it for him.     • Get a 20/22.4 ball mount adaptor

Garmin designed a great 350$ GPS and supplied it with a absolutely crappy unreliable suction-based mounting bracket (falls off all the time). I use bulletpoint mounting system in my jeep, but it's based on 20 mm ball joints, while the socket on the Garmin 86 bracket accepts 22 mm ball. It took me a week to find the solution because most ball adaptors on the market are reducing to 17 mm. Solution - gotta get an adapter 20mm to 22.4 mm. I found two companies - that sell them. One is called 67 (25$), the other one is called tackform (15$). Both claim the part is for Furrion mounting, but it works for Garmin86 as well. ... show more

It's nice to have a big screen for a long road trip. One issue to report is when the voice says the street and directions it cuts off if it's too long. Might be because of the latest firmware update. My other Garmin didn't do that so they lost a star. I would still recommend buying this product though. Might of been an issue with a recent update. If you want to a bigger screen that's easier to see. This is your unit. You won't regret it. I'd buy it again. ... show more

This keeps freezing up and therefore is useless. I love Garmin, had them for years. I hate this one! Total junk. I ordered a drivesmart 65. Hopefully that works better!

Gps has a lot of neat functions. Reason i got this was because i didnt want to use my phone on long trips for navigation. Only reason i didnt do 5 stars was that it doesnt seem to give me the option to select between different routes.
