First thing I have ever gotten from Garmin that did not work as advertised or expected--and I have used Garmin units since 1994. I bought two of these as spares for my Garmin GPS, so I could use it in different vehicles. One year later both of the knock-off ones are broken and the Garmin one that came with the unit is still working fine - even though it gets used the most. These mounts appear to be slightly thinner plastic, and on both of them the metal spring that holds the ball broke out of the back, dropping my GPS on the floor. They were also much tighter to press on to the ball mount and harder to reposition, which I suspect is why they broke. I bought real Garmin ones to replace them. ... show more
