  • Works great! Easy to maneuver
Size: Plug Aeration
Assembly is required before use,but instructions were very straightforward and came with its own tools. Once assembled, it worked just as described and easy to make holes. The dirt does come out of the holes when you press the tool into the ground. I recommend not doing it with super wet soil as to the dirt will get stuck in the holes. ... show more

  • Sturdy Aerator - good for small lawns - at good price
Size: 2 Uses - Plug & Spike
The aerator attachment does a great job 1 star less because: - its not height adjustable and may be a bit small for tall men / women above 6 ft - The spike attachment is good to have but I did not find the use of it much - There was some rust on the plastic packaging that it arrived in

  • Definitely AWESOME!!! Read details, easy to use, really made a huge difference, etc..
Size: Plug Aeration
Folks I thought I took pics, however I am not able to locate them right now. Wanted to write a quick review, few quick notes. My folks yard was/is very compacted since they lived there for years, plus my brother having OCD would cut the grass 4 - 6 times a week. Needless to say, years later now in 2020 I am working to fix up the house and sell it. Couldn't grow grass anywhere since 95% of the yard was hard compacted soil/clay, etc. Most of the yard ended up being weeds like clover and such because of the frequent grass cutting, no fertilizer and no upkeep/maintenance other than cutting. I picked up a Sunjoe dethatcher, which was truly a miracle to even know something like that existed, figure I would manually aerate the lawn because it couldn't hurt to get water and nutrients into the soil. SUPER easy to aerate, and keep in mind you might have to move your one side of this tool if you hit a stone or something. I would even go through and step on the foot part and push one side down, then tilt the aerating tool for the other side to go in. Then tubes of soil would pop out of the tubes and just leave those go, they will break down shortly and you will never know they are there. Once in a great while I would need to use a screwdriver in one side of something got lodged in the tube. Would HIGHLY recommend, keeping in mind this is a manual process and I did it over a few days here and there throughout the yard. Takes no time to do, worked great after some rain, but regardless I even did most of the aeration holes mid summer, no rain and had no issues. All told I spent about 7 hrs over 3 days or so, and its done! You don't have to go through back to back holes, mind are roughly less than 1 - 2 ft, sometimes even 3 - 4 ft away from other aerating holes I created. Then I fertilized when it started getting cooler out and the lawn LOOKS incredibly beautiful, the fertilizer has iron in it, which I think is the component that really helped the lawn develop a nice darker, richer green color. ... show more

  • Worked great!
Size: 2 Uses - Plug & Spike
Call me crazy, but I had fun using this tool as the rider one I borrowed from the hardware store barely made a dent in my lawn. And yes, I used a ton of masonry blocks! I have soil that is probably 1/2 clay and some rock. I live in Minnesota. I made sure I watered good for a couple days before, and mostly had no problems. Some mud/soil got stuck, but easily removed with a screwdriver. Easy to rinse out with hose. Just be careful, if it’s real thick it’s going ro spray back at you and soak you good! No biggie. Just do it on a hot day! Don’t listen to negative reviews, they just didn’t get their lawn moist enough beforehand, OR, oversaturated it to the point of mud. ... show more

  • Replacement update
Size: Plug Aeration
The product is hit and miss with the first plug aerator falling apart first time it was used to the second one holding together? I think it’s quality control issue from whatever factory it came out of?

  • Number one garden tool for me!!!!!!
Size: Plug Aeration
I love this tool. Totally worth it. Study and solid design. Easy to assemble with just four nuts and bolts. What's also great is that in the package came with everything to mount this tool together and even an extra nut and bolt. I plugged half of my yard in one and a half hours because it was incredibly easy to use with not much effort. Tips: Make sure your soil is wet but do not soak it. Line up and press down hard enough with your foot to ensure that the soil goes through. You must press down hard enough and the tool does all the work for you without it clogging. Avoid and rocky areas if possible so that any small rocks does not end up clogging the tool. Have a bucket ready to collect plugs and you'll end up having to spend an extra hours or so collecting them. Funny thing to note, my wife saw the plugs and said "ohhhh looks like 💩" See pictures ... show more

  • Only one problem...
Size: 2 Uses - Plug & Spike
As soon as I got this aerator, I put it together and took it outside and used it. It is sturdy, and yet, still light weight and functional. I used the plug part, and found myself immediately aerating my lawn quickly. However, the one reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5, is when the plugs build up in the plug maker, the dirt gets stuck in the tube and I have to use long screwdriver to remove the dirt. At first it was dirt pushing dirt out, but after a few tries, the dirt got stuck in the tube. I found that after making 3 sets of plugs, it got clogged up and I'd have to stop my work and remove the plug with some effort. I'm not sure why this is, but my next plan is to use some vasaline inside the tubes and see if that helps the plugs to not get stuck. If this problem was not such an annoyance, this tool would be a great tool! ... show more

Easy to use and put together. One use alone for aerating pays for itself.
