From experience I know that 'all fence posts are not created equal'. While this one is billed as 'light duty' it is just the thing for enclosing a back yard chicken run or a garden plot. It is rigid and sturdy enough for serious driving with a heavy hammer and the flange about six inches up from the bottom sets each stake firmly in most soils. Gardeners who are trying to discourage rabbits, woodchucks and pets will find these posts are strong enough not to bend and tall enough to keep neighborhood dogs at bay. At intervals along each post pop-out notches allow for sliding fence mesh material into the post and cut-out circles here and there allow for wiring fencing to the posts. Each post is well-finished with enamel and I have had them last for ten years and more in year-round use. TIP: Use taller posts of similar design and chicken wire with the smallest openings to discourage squirrels. I have found squirrels where I used to garden would not climb the uncomfortably thin wire

These are light duty posts as described. Light and soft metal that fits the need. They are a scaled replica of those heavy duty metal fence posts that feel like they weigh 10-20 lbs and are gorilla proof. If you are driving into hard ground you will smash the tops a bit. I was putting four up in small area and one hit a rough patch. Mauled the top a bit. This was a rocky patch that would have been hard to drive in any post. I only needed to drive them in about 6-8 inches for a compost bin so it worked out fine with a 2 lb. hammer. Small three sided enclosure with the back two posts tied to a good chain link fence too. Not sure you could drive them very much deeper and still have a straight post in any kind of rough ground. I guess I would have dug down a bit if I needed them deep and/or fill with cement. Good price and shipping cost. You get economy of scale with combined shipping as you increase the number ordered so the shipping cost gets worth it at a certain point. Took a week to arrive with a weekend in the middle. HorseLoverZ/EasyPetStore was the vendor. Good deal.

Posts were recieved adequately packaged(in a long box no inner packaging material though).Posts took maximum eight days to arrive. I needed the fence post to build a perimeter to prevent wild goats from eating a tree .The top of the fence post cannot take brute force hammering.My buddy and I used a mallet to place on top of the fence post then used a sledge to hit the mallet to drive in the post. Before we did the driving though we dug a hole about three inches deep and wide enough for the tab on the post to enter. We them put some water in the hole to moisten the earth. After driving in the posts they felt very firm in the hole.We packed small stones in the post hole to further anchor them. I recommend them as they held up well after we placed the galvanized mesh around them.I will definately order some more and hope to get them faster.

Since I didn’t need all 10 for my project and I set them with a mallet to drive them deeper than the stepper bars, the fact that 2 of my stakes arrived with separated parts didn’t bother me very much; and so far they are holding up nicely to the constant Cape Cod ocean breeze. Salt air is so unforgiving. However, if you are looking for an easy to press into the ground stake, you may want to a different product.

These are great! Needed sign posts for reserved parking signs for our HOA that weren’t too expensive and easy to install because we’re not professionals. Easy to slip the signs on after loosening the clips with a hammer claw, and seem to be staying up well.

These are a good quality and they work as promised. I have them holding up a small banner and they're working just fine. My yard was damp so it was easy to press these into the ground with my foot. They are as good as some posts I bought from a hardware store several years ago.
