I ordered this garden weed rake in the smallest, six teeth design. I had hopes that it would make it easier to pull out the many weeds that develop in spring before I lay down new mulch and rock. The quality of the tool is great. It’s long and sturdy. It’s made with quality materials and with good grips on it and sharp spikes at the end. The innovative design seemed like it would work well for pulling, or at least cutting, weeds. Unfortunately, the angle that the rake is tilted at does not allow you to dig the teeth into the ground enough, in order to get the root and base of the weed. You are basically only able to drag it across the surface of the ground. As you do this, the flimsy top part of the weed just folds over and slides right through the teeth. So, in my experience, it was not effectively pulling or chopping off weeds. I tried it on three types and mostly just got some of the leaves or top parts ripped off. It might have worked better if the teeth were closer together and/or the angle allowed you to dig it under the weed. I can’t really use it as intended, but it’s still a quality tool that I can likely use in other ways. I find that it actually works pretty well to rake up surface debris and to spread soil and mulch. Overall, I can’t recommend this for the main purpose of removing weeds, but other reviewers had better experiences, so there is the possibility that the difference in type of weed could be a factor, or mine could have somehow been a fluke that was bent inward more than others. Either way, it is still a quality product that may just need a little tweaking. ... show more

I can't say enough great things about this rake. I have a pretty small garden plot but last year I didn't even get to it because the weeds were just overwhelming and I couldn't face it. That being said I attacked 2 years worth of weeds with this rake and it was an absolute blessing for me. It is a little small which fit my needs but I can't say how it would work if a person was trying to do something heavy duty. I can do a lot of bending down and planting on the ground anymore so this rake was the perfect solution for that. The tines are sharp and easily grab all kids of plants so with just a few swipes it even removed the ones that were growing from under the plywood. Additionally I use a lot of planter bags raised up on tables and benches. The rake was able to get under the setup and clear out everything. I was even able to use the rake inside the planter bags. I dug in a little, twisted and gathered up all the weeds per bag. This one tool has great versatility. The rake itself is a nice substantial steel, but not too heavy to lift up and use on things that were about waist high. The whole thing was easy to assemble. The handle was in 3 pieces so I was a little worried that it would be loose when I needed to pull things but that did not happen.
