  • Strong, multi-purpose rake with adjustable handle length. Great for straw - not so much for leaves.
Style: 72"
I recently received this "Garden Rake, Heavy Duty 11 Tines Metal Thatch Rake for Gathering Hay Dead Grass Brush Pine Needles Leaves, 72" Long Handle Large Yard Rakes for Lawns Standing Effortless Collecting Cleaning" for the most obvious of reasons - I needed a rake! This rake arrived quickly and came packaged in a box that threw me off when it showed up. I've ordered garden tools online before and should have anticipated the rake requiring assembly, but I'd forgotten, so I was surprised to open the rectangular box to discover numerous black, metal tubes and a rake head. Naturally, I immediately recognized what it was and pulled the pieces from the box to begin assembly. I probably should have at least glanced at the instructions before I did, but I just screwed each piece into the next until there were none left. THEN I checked the assembly instructions. I did it right. This rake is pretty straightforward as rakes go. It's designed to work well on an accumulation of dead grass, and while I don't have that as an issue in the yard currently, it will be nice when I do. My current issue is the seemingly random schedule for the giant magnolia out front to distribute a thousand leaves in an afternoon without any real warning. Apparently magnolias are like that (according to neighbors at least). The leaves are so thick and become brittle so fast that they're difficult to gather up using a leaf blower, and aside from using a rake, the only other method I know to remove them is by picking each fallen leaf up by hand. It's tedious and takes forever, so a rake seemed like a better choice. I tried out the rake after assembling it and it works, but it's a bit awkward using it for my intended purpose. The tines of the rake tend to catch on the soil more than I'd like, so I find myself having to be very "light" in my handling. Dragging the rake across the top of the grass to catch the leaves (as one does when raking) gets the job done, but not as efficiently as a typical leaf rake. The pieces of the rake's handle seem very sturdy to me and my only real concern is that the individual sections can work loose while using it. I didn't rake for too long after assembling it, but I quickly got into the habit of embedding the tines in the dirt and then twisting the whole rake to tighten the sections. It may not have been entirely necessary, but it was a 2 second step I did once every 3-4 minutes and it kept the rake together pretty well. I should probably note that the tines are NOT pointed, so even though they catch in the grass, it does take a little bit of force to embed them in the soil. This rake was priced at $25.99 when I placed my order, which seems reasonable to me. It's not quite the TYPE of rake I really needed for the leaves, but it will be great for the buildup of dried grass cuttings that always end up being a pain to clean up after the final mow of the year, which is usually late October here. If you're in the market for a thatch rake, or have an abundance of pine trees in your yard that the regular leaf rake won't really handle, definitely check this one out. Happy to recommend! ... show more

  • Long handle rake
Style: 72"
I assembled it in seconds by just screwing the sections together. The rust-resistant metal tines feel solid and the head clears a big swath in one pass. The adjustable handle stretches from 26 to 72 inches, so I can rake standing up without bending. The head connection seems sturdy. Cleaning is simple - a quick rinse gets rid of debris, and it dries fast. As a con, it's for big things like long grass or large leaves. For smaller things, you need a rake with smaller teeth. Overall, this rake cuts my cleanup time and saves my back. Additional: The sections unscrew for compact storage in a garage or truck bed. ... show more

  • Semi heavy duty
Style: 87"
Long enough to get behind the bushes I have by the window without having to bend all around. Can easily rake sticks up but too wide to rake leaves when it’s not a lot. I would say this is completely a heavy duty rake but it also isn’t something you would get from the dollar store. Easy to put together and use. Light weight for teen assistance. Can shorten if needed. If you live in a house with a lot of trees where leaves build heavily this will help a lot. ... show more

  • Amazing with pine needles
Style: 87"
I picked up this metal garden rake to help with general yard cleanup, and it’s turned out to be a solid, versatile tool. The screw-together handle is sturdier than I expected, and I like that I can remove a section to adjust the length based on what I’m working on. Fully assembled, it’s quite long—great for reaching further without constant repositioning. The rake head is well-made with strong, flat-ended tines that work well on dead grass, pine needles, and heavier debris. It’s not the best for delicate raking like magnolia leaves on grass, since the tines can catch on the soil, but with a lighter touch, it gets the job done. Assembly was quick and easy, and the whole thing feels durable yet lightweight enough to use for extended periods. My only tip is to check the connections now and then, as the sections can loosen slightly with use. For the price, it’s a great value and fills the gap between a leaf rake and a heavy-duty garden rake. I’d buy it again. ... show more

  • Not Heavy-duty.
Style: 72"
This is not Heavy-duty. The sectioned handle will fail in the first truly Heavy-duty use. Each section screws to the next creating a long handle, but the handles have a weakness. They're hollow, and they have a plastic sleeve on the end to stabilize the connection. That sleeve will fail when the handle is stressed which happens when Heavy-duty products meet heavy jobs. The welds are nice. But the handle is not good. In my humble opinion, junk! ... show more

  • Beast of a Rake for Yard Cleanup
Style: 87"
The GLORYA heavy-duty metal thatch rake is no joke—it’s solid, sharp, and clears out dead grass like a champ. I used it to dethatch a medium-sized lawn, and it didn’t bend or wear down. The 11-tine head is tough and wide enough for big swaths. As for maintenance, just rinse it off after use and keep it dry to prevent rust. Maybe a little oil on the joints if you want to be extra. This thing means business. ... show more

  • Fills the Gap Between Other Rakes
Style: 87"
I do my own yardwork and own a leaf rake and gravel rake. This one fills the gap between them very well. Nice all-purpose rake, e.g., for garden beds and spreading soil. Sturdy metal tines and sectional handle that can be assembled for different lengths.
