  • This Metal Leaf Rake Has 16 Tines and a Handle Adjustable for Length! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
AMAZON VINE Review of the GARGENTOL METAL LEAF RAKE We live in a house with 150 acres of woods that start ten feet beyond our back lawn. It is beautiful here in rural North Carolina, but when all those towering trees behind us start to drop their leaves our yard disappears and the leaves rule UNTIL I break out our new leaf rake. I ordered this new metal garden rake when it was clear that my old rake that came HERE from my prior house in 2005 and was twenty-plus years old BEFORE the move needed to retire. The inherent advantages built into this newer version are many and varied. The sturdy construction is immediately noticeable. The Four-Section Adjustable stainless-steel handle with rubber handholds and the carbon steel rake head build quality is exceptional. The anti-rust coating and baked-on black enamel paint ensures it will remain in excellent condition, even after seasons of use. I especially appreciate the thoughtful design of the heavy rake head, which is securely attached to the handle with two SCREWS. Unlike older “press-fit” or “wedge-fit” handles this handle allows for immediate tightening preventing any loosening or wobble during use. This rake is built to last and withstand the rigors of serious tilling, dethatching, root pulling and especially removing invasive plants like the Kudzu that plagues us in NC. The efficient 16-tine design is perfect for many gardening tasks. The tines easily penetrate most soil types, making it perfect for loosening soil, spreading mulch, and leveling the ground. The adjustable length feature is excellent, allowing me to customize the handle to my preferred length, whether it is 34", 48", or 62". This versatility, combined with the comfortable rubber handle, makes extended use easier. The ability to shorten or lengthen the handle means I can adjust the leverage potential AND use a shorter rake for working close to the ground as in weeding or seeding. Light-tine rakes make no headway against the Kudzu that borders our property, but this heavy rake used with a shortened handle allows me to remove wide swaths of the runners that Kudzu puts out to make new plants. If your property is home to Kudzu, Invasive Japanese Honeysuckle, English Climbing Ivy, Chinese Wisteria, Oriental Bittersweet, or Periwinkle, this heavy rake used as a dethatcher makes short work of these annoying plants at least in the short term. The battle may be won, but the “War” goes on. For anyone spending time outside working on your garden or lawn or landscaping this rake is a versatile and indispensable tool. It is the modern iteration of the heavy long-handled leaf rake that my Grandfather used to keep his tiny patch of lawn pristine. THIS is our era’s version of that rake. It is built better, it is easier to maintain, it is Purpose-Built to be adjustable and designed with the comfort of the user in mind while working. This AMAZON VINE Review of the GARGENTOL METAL LEAF RAKE is FIVE STARS! Five Stars for SIXTEEN TINES, solid steel head, adjustable-length handle, comfortable rubber handholds, stores easily, and it is VERSATILE! Thanks, AMAZON! Mark in North Carolina ... show more

  • Pretty good, but handle could feel more solid
I’ve been using this 62-inch Garden Metal Rake for a few weeks, and it’s solid. The 16 steel tines grab leaves, mulch, and even small rocks without bending or giving out, and the stainless steel handle feels sturdy in hand. At 6’6”, the length is just about right for me, and I’m not hunched over using it, which is a relief for my back. It does a good job leveling soil and spreading mulch. It’s not overly heavy, so using it for a couple of hours straight isn’t too tiring. The tines are pretty close together, which is nice for leaf cleanup but can sometimes clog with debris if you’re working in thicker stuff like wet leaves or dense mulch. I had to stop a few times to clear it out, but it's manageable. The handle connection is the only reason I’m giving it four stars instead of five. While it hasn’t failed on me, it doesn’t feel as tight as it could. There’s a bit of play where the sections screw together, but nothing that would stop me from recommending it for regular yard work. ... show more

  • 62 Inch Rake
This item arrived quickly. The box included the rake, 4 stainless steel handles that can be used to adjust the handle size in 34", 48" or 62", and hardware (screws) to assemble the rake head. The handles are attachable and detachable. This rake handles a variety of yard need with dealing with gardening soil, spreading mulch or hay, raking leaves, etc. I found the price to be comparable to local stores, with the difference being that this one is adjustable. ... show more

  • Beefy and high quality rack, but the twist on pole has the same issues as always
I really like the Garden Metal Rake for Leaves. The rack itself seems to be made of high quality material and I'm confident it will last for a long time, even after heavy usage on my farm. It's also heavy enough to be effective but not enough to be burdensome. The pole comes in several parts, which all twist into each other. What I've found with this type of poles is that they limit your movement to up and down, with very little ability to go left or right. If you do turn too fast, the poles twist off a bit, and then you have to tighten them up or risk them breaking at the thread. This pole is no different. I have to be careful with how I twist or move or it will become undone. I'll probably replace the pole with a regular broom stick in the future. For now, it works, and isn't annoying enough to change. Would buy again. ... show more

  • Solid metal take
This has a nice long handle. You screw three sections together. I guess you could make it shorter by taking the middle section out but I’m not sure why. This is a good mix of lightweight and sturdy. Mine came with a pair of gloves that I did not expect but really like.

  • Solid rake for the leaves
Solid rake. Putting together was fine. The annoying part was the screws attaching the rack and the tools provided to do so where not the best. Had use my own tools. The rake is light weight and does what it needs to do. I am 5'4" so this is perfect for me. My husband who is 6'1 used it and had no issues either. • Heavy Duty Multi-use Raker
Very solid and strong. Perfect for normal raking of leaves or garden garbages and also can be used to rake stone pebbles, sand or cement. A must for well-equipped garage.

  • Easy to assemble and sturdy
Heavy and sturdy, a little rough for leaves but it gets the job done. Arrived disassembled, but no problems putting it together quickly. Better for turning dirt or rocks than leaves.
