This will sound weird but it is truthful. Dog people have doggie pick-up bags for that express purpose. Cat people like me are subject to using those doggie bags when we walk our cats on a leash. The difference being, cats MUST bury their load or they sure aren't much of a cat. So I, of course, allow my varmint to do as he wishes, quite thoroughly, then I use this GREAT RAKE (with only half the handle attached) to separate "it" from the dirt and pick it up with the doggie bag.
