The stakes themselves are quite chunky. Heavy, folded, and welded. The finish is nice, too, and should help ward off rust. Some of the welds aren't perfect which means in those areas there can be some small gaps in the coating for water to get in, but considering that these should be a temporary solution until the posts can be fully re-set, I'm not too concerned about that. The pictures in the ad show a notch cut out in the underside, but mine don't have that. The edges meet up completely, which I think will be more solid than the way shown.

The RUDCXDY Garden Fence Post Repair Stakes are an absolute game-changer! My 20-year-old fence was leaning severely as evident in the before pictures, and these anchor stakes came to the rescue, saving my fence as depicted in the after picture. Performing the repairs single-handedly, I utilized adjacent trees and ratchet straps to straighten the fence. While some scenarios may require an extra pair of hands, the 6-case kit included essential hex bolts, a wood drill bit, and a hex nut bit for secure installation. To facilitate the process, having one (preferably two) drills with an impact drill is advised. Additionally, I found a post driver with handles to be crucial, making it significantly easier than attempting to drive these substantial posts into the ground with a sledgehammer. In about 90 minutes, I successfully installed four stakes by myself, resulting in a fence that looks fantastic and stands strong. I highly recommend the RUDCXDY Fence Post Repair Stakes for anyone dealing with leaning or broken fence posts. These RUDCXDY Heavy Duty Steel Fence Post Repair Stakes are the most sturdy I have found. I have tried three other brands...these are the best. I like the offset between the spike portion that goes into the ground and the section that screws into the post. If you have a cement plug at the base of your post...this offset helps to get the spike in without destroying the concrete too much. Sometimes the concrete is too big and that has to be worked around...no fault of the kit. The U channel steel makes for really strong construction and the powder coating effectively gives very good corrosion protection. There is a photo in the advert that shows a size range of 2.5 - 8 feet. When looking at the picture...it could be interpreted that the spike portion of the Fence Post Repair Stake goes into the ground for 2.5 feet. It actually goes about 14" into the ground. Top of the picture is the caption "THIS FENCE POST REPAIR KIT CAN REPAIR fences in the height range of 2.5FT-8FT". The price point is comparable to others...but the product is better.

2-4&5-24 These may have been intended to repair broken fence posts but I found if those fence posts are concreted in they aren't as helpful since they won't clear the concrete. For reference I used them in my mostly decomposed granite with rocks and caliche soil, and my fence posts are 40 in tall. I ended up using them for a new fence build, which worked out great! I didn't have to any shovel work, didn't have to lug mix ou pour 80 lb bags of concrete, didn't have to purchase longer posts to accommodate the amount set in the ground and was able install a post in under 15 minutes. The only problem with these is there's no way to adjust them if they end up getting driven in slightly crooked or unlevel. Although I was able to use rocks and pieces of wood as wedges between these stakes and my wooden posts to get them vertical straight. The tools I used included: a small 1-1/2" diameter garden auger that fits into a drill to create pilot holes in the ground which also worked well at dislodging any smaller stones and finding larger ones that I would need to dig out, so I ended up just moving the post hole a few inches to avoid these larger rocks in lieu of digging them out. 5 lb short handled sledge hammer, cordless drill, a cordless impact, a piece of wood to blunt the sledge from damaging the steel stake. Something interesting I figured out along the way is that you could actually use 2x4s which slide into the "c" channel of the upper portion of these stakes which you could actually use as fence posts if desired l. These are robust and made of thick steel with a heavy sandy textured powder coating finish. Granted they don't feel as stable as sinking a post 2 feet in the ground set in concrete, but for my needs containing pets and small livestock they worked out great. I wouldn't use them for a gate hanging or corner post but may work if you use 2 on that post. Something else pretty nice about these is with the help of a jack and a chain you can pluck them back out of the ground and reuse them or move them when needed. I haven't had them long enough to find out they're durability as far as rusting out, but I also live in a dryer climate Phoenix Arizona so time will tell how they fair. Other than having no way to adjust them for level or plane, you'll just have to do a few taps and adjust as you go. I have no other gripes. Hopefully my written and photo reviews are helpful, Thank you!

We needed something to strengthen our picket fence and this RUDCXDY Heavy Duty Steel Fence Post Repair Stakes worked like a charm. These stakes are very heavy duty and made very well. Getting the stakes down through hard packed soil was a breeze and when it's in the stakes were pretty much unmoveable. Would highly recommend for repairs on broken fence posts or to mount new posts for a new wooden fence.
