I was hesitant to get this replacement game slot for my switch because I read some of the reviews saying that it didn't work and caused the touch screen to fail and the low reviews. But I took the risk and said worst case I can just return it. After watching a YouTube tutorial, I opened it and took out the old slot that had broken pins and installed the new card slot. You just have to make sure the ribbon cable on the left is pushed in all the way and locked down well with the black bar. And make sure the cable on the right is snapped in well. You should be able to feel it go down into the slot. Once you have everything in nice and secure, you can put it back together. If you dont have those ribbon cables put in well and locked down it can lead to the system not working well. You can look at the images attached to see it fully installed. I can say it worked for me, and it was a relatively easy install. Just watch a tutorial on YouTube and keep your screws organized. ... show more

Since it was stated that the touchscreen doesn't work for some I was a tad sceptical. Before attempting to install, I looked at the board to match the layout and it's pretty darn close. After I plugged it in and without reassembling the switch I booted it up. Everything worked. Touchscreen and game card. I then put everything back (please scrape all the nasty thermal paste from Nintendo off and use some arctic silver). Switch has been working flawless for days now. It's like it was never an issue. Personally, after looking a bit more into the switches schematics, I think most people are not installing the ribbon correctly or properly fastening the snap connection near the headphone slot. So if you run into that issue you need to make sure to clean the ribbon connection and make sure the snap is fully snapped in. The ribbon cable is VERY fragile put the board in flat and before anything else, line up the ribbon into the slot and then press the plastic fastener down all the way. This is very important. If you are having issues I highly doubt it is the board itself, as I'm sure most who return these find out when they purchase another and it still doesn't work. My son dropped liquid down the aux port and ruined the old board. This was a super easy fix. It took about 10 mins. There is a video online that says to remove the heat sink but you do not need to do that. Works great for $26

My son's Switch stopped being able to read cartridges due to a damaged pin. This replacement kit was exactly what was needed to get it working again. I like that it came with tools, very useful. The replacment screws for the back of the case were too thick to work, and I needed one since one of the originals stripped. I gave it 4 stars because while the reader works, I have to pull the game cartridge rather hard to get it out. The original was not like that. I'm afraid it will damage the games or possibly the new card reader. ... show more
