I will update if my impressions change later. This item arrived quickly and was quite easy to put together following the instructions. The hardest part was blowing up the ball, for the nozzle of the air pump really did NOT want to fit into the hole for the ball. The directions also state not to blow the ball up larger than a certain measurement, but did not supply a measuring tool. This would be simply remedied by supplying a ribbon of paper or plastic in the length of diameter that the ball should not exceed. I did follow the protocol of filling it, letting it sit for a few hours, and then filling it more to make it easier as it got hard at the end, and a good bit of air was constantly coming OUT of the pump they provided. I'm not sure if my pump was defective or everyone deals with this. The brakes, yeah the brakes flip to locked REALLY easily. Simple solution would be to put the two wheels with the locking ability on the rearside of the chair instead of the front. No big deal. I was under the impression from the description on amazon that the chair comes with that backside piece as a backrest, but the instructions in the box CLEARLY state that it is not strong enough for that purpose and is meant for stability when performing exercises. I bought this chair to use as an office desk chair as advised by my chiropractor. The ball allows for some lower back and pelvic movement and will hopefully keep my back happier than my standard chair. I love that it doesn't have armrests. Those only get in the way. I'm very comfortable sitting here as I write this, slowly teetering back and forth. The base adds a level of stability that I appreciate. I already wish I had paid more for the swivel base, but the reviews for the swivel base showed many issues with breaking. All in all I'm satisfied with my purchase and hope to get good use out of this. ... show more

I bought this because I wanted a ball chair that had a back support. The frame on which the ball sits is sturdy and well built. The bar across the front which prevents the ball from popping out is genius. That being said,the ball that comes with the frame is complete and total garbage. It feels like it is made out of a rubberized vinyl and it wore a hole in less than 2 months. I replaced it with a ball that feels similar to the giant play balls one used to see for sale in the big cages at places like Walmart. That ball has worked wonderfully for over 6 months now without a single issue. I wish their was a way to just purchase this frame without the ball. I love the frame. I don't understand why anyone would even sell that ball. Complete crap. If you buy this understand you will be getting a phenomenal base with a ball you will have to replace way sooner than you should for the cost. ... show more

The chair is great - no complaints about the design, plus it is comfortable and I do not get back or hip pain from sitting all day in it. However, when my ball eventually got a hole in it (about 2-3 years after purchasing), it has been impossible to find the right size replacement ball in the black color. They are only available in other colors on Amazon, and the black ones are sold out on the brand’s website. The brand has made this ball an odd size so you can’t just purchase a ball from any brand. Really frustrating because buying a whole new chair is so wasteful. I just need a new black ball for the classic chair. ... show more

I have a disability that makes it difficult to stand for long periods, so I wanted something that would relieve back pain from sitting too long without relying solely on a standing solution. So, I tried this balance ball chair. First off, be sure to follow the instructions for inflating the ball. I can't explain why, but the ball seemed way too small, but I deflated it by 1/2 then re-inflated it the next day according to the instructions and it was better. It still seems a bit too small, but functional. The ball is stable on the base, and I think that works better for sitting than using just an exercise ball alone. Overall, I like the concept. It does seem to help my back. I wish it came with those foot extenders to add a little height to the chair. A little more height would make it function better for working with a computer at a desk. (At least for me and my eyeglasses.) At the moment, I am actually enjoying it as an alternative to sitting on the couch for watching tv, reading, and such. So I am definitely using it, if still figuring out how it works best for me. I was disappointed with the condition of the item from the Amazon Warehouse. It was definitely more beat up than was indicated in the description, which did not indicate any damage except to the box. It wasn't quite enough to go through the hassle of a return; just disappointing. That is a chance you take with the Warehouse - it is a great way to save money, but sometimes the "packaging will be damaged" condition means it won't do well when shipped out again. Overall, my impression is that this is an affordable option for helping with the aches and pains of sitting too long. Along with other actions, like making sure to stand up every hour and stretch a bit, it does make a positive difference. ... show more

Got my chair about 2 weeks ago. Very easy to put together, just minutes. comfortable EXCEPT the back rest is not padded. I added a small cushion to it and it's great now. That's the only thing i would change.

So I am 300 lbs and this thing holds me up like a champ. Used it on day one, didn't have to inflate and wait then inflate again. If I do I'll pump it up as it's pretty damn easy to do. I haven’t purchased anything else to compare it to. But for what we got and what we paid, it has held up very well. She is still sitting in it daily and she’s an online schoolteacher. She sits in it for eight hours a day. No complaints. I can’t comment as to the pain relief but it does not hurt her to sit in it.
