For the amount of money spent on this product, I feel it should be a lot heavier weave of material. This doesn't feel as though it would stop a batted baseball or softball. My plan is to try it with plastic balls and doubled up in my garage this winter to keep my swing in season. If I were using anything else, I'd be worried the ball would break through. ... show more

The net is not made out of a heavier weave. It is shiny and is plastic in appearance like nylon. The net does does not have that weight which you may expect for something this size. I believe this net will repeal water better and may be easier to setup plus tear down. It is definitely made better with its knots and perimeter rope which you use to secure the net. Good quality netting. I give batting lessons and I this netting in my building for a indoor batting cage. The guys and gals can swing away without fear of breaking anything. This netting is strong and does allows balls to pass through. Easy to hang.
