I bought this hat to cover the tops of my ears and for this, it's perfect. The material is soft stretchy fleece, but not too thick, so the hat can be worn in Spring or Fall. It would definitely be too hot for Summer. The bill is stiff and a nice size to shade the eyes. The part that goes over the ears is flexible, so you can push it up if necessary. The flap doesn't cover my entire ear, but goes about mid-way. My only issue is with the ponytail hole which sits high on the back, which is an awkward location. I wish the hole was down low like a regular cap, which would work much better for long hair or a bun. That would make it perfect. Overall, though, it's a good hat and I recommend it. ... show more
