I was so impressed when I got this fleece cap! I thought from the pictures that the ear flaps were loose but I was wrong! I love the nice snug fit around my ears and face. You can also flip the ear flaps up on the inside or outside of the hat if you don't want them over your ears. The fleece is super nice and soft and the material is very high quality. Even the brim has a nice fleece all around it giving it that nice soft feel. There is a very nice ponytail opening for your hair to go through for those of you who like to wear a ponytail like myself. I have never seen a ponytail opening done so nicely. They have a very nice added benefit of three very high quality ponytail holders. They are made of nice thick material that are for a larger ponytail with a fair amount of stretch to it. The hat itself is like a baseball hat but has a very nice adjustment strap in the back to tighten it around your head. It would remind you of a beanie hat in how it fits and the feel of it. On me, the hat comes down just above my eyebrows so I can utilize the brim to its fullest. The brim is a nice firm stiff brim that keeps its shape. I love the entire fit around my head and the way the flaps fit snug around my ears as well. I am so glad that the flaps aren't loose because it won't let any extra wind in where it would give me an ear ache. I really, really love this hat, and my daughter was so jealous of it when she saw it. I know that I will have to keep a close eye on it or my hat might become her hat! I purchased this hat in Navy Blue, which is a nice, standard shade of navy. The fabric of the hat is soft micro-fleece. The ponytail slot is very long...running from the button at the hat's top center down almost to the stretchy outer cord that you adjust to tighten the hat's fit. The flap really works to keep your ears and the lower back of your head warm! The front of the crown does not have any structural support to give it vertical height, so you're not going to look an inch taller than you really are when wearing this cap! This also means that if your bangs have been curled, fluffed or teased up, there is zero space/volume under the crown to preserve your hairstyle...hence, it will inevitably get flattened. The brim of the cap I received seems to have been sewn on a bit lopsided and it also is unevenly molded/bent which doesn't look so good. I'll have to try to figure out a way to reform it which yields better results than my initial efforts did. All in all though, I'm very happy to have a nice warm cap like this that won't blow off and will keep my ears toasty in the cold weather! ... show more

This hat is warm, functional, stretchy, soft, and comfortable. This should fit anyone because of the stretchy fabric (90% polyester and 10% spandex), plus there is an adjustable pull cord to tighten or loosen it. I particularly like the pull cord feature because I am active and it gives me the security the hat will stay put with a lot of movement or on a windy day. I love to wear baseball caps because I usually have my hair in a ponytail, but the traditional cap is not warm enough for winter (or even for autumn where I live), so the ability to cover the ears and stay warm is really the best part about this hat for me. Up until now, when hiking on cooler days, I had to choose between a baseball cap for sun protection and a fleece ski hat for warmth. Now, I found a cozy fleece baseball cap that covers my ears and provides warmth! Plus, there's an opening for my ponytail! I have a small head and I was able to use the adjustment strap so the hat fit perfectly. The only negative I found is that the reflective strip along the brim of the hat is very narrow so I don't feel it provides a great deal of safety. I only plan on wearing this hat during the daylight hours so this is not a concern for me. ... show more

I rate this ponytail fleece hat as 4 stars because the material is soft, and it's comfortable to wear. I haven't washed it yet, but I don't think that'll change anything or the fit much. This cap is great to have, so no more fighting with a ponytail position.

I love this hat! The ponytail opening is substantial so no matter how much hair you have you're going to be able to get it through the hole. The base of the hat is adjustable in size to a degree so you can get a nice tight fit and most importantly, these ear flaps are super toasty. The ear flaps can fold up into the base of the hat so they don't have to be there but they sure are going to come in handy on cold days. The seller has also included some free hair bands with the product, which I didn't realize until after I took these pictures but was a very nice touch.
