Difficult to open and close , especially opening have push up really hard. Not good for city use or if in crowds needing to maybe open /close the umbrella multiple times heavier than expected so maybe not optimal for traveling

Great little umbrella. I only removed 1 star cuz the bottom cap unscrewed so I had to superglue it. It looks like it’s meant to come off but not sure why. Great shade tho and super compact

Some week points, but Soooo close! The size of perfect! The material seems good. But,, the release button is too touchy (light release), it also semi collapses with light pressure (not sure how wind durable) and it they would have made the Velcro on the strap a double the width you wouldn't even need a storage bag. It is cheap enough, We will see how it holds up, I don't trust it enough for a trip so still looking for the perfect subcompact umbrella 😑 ... show more

I ordered this compact umbrella for my daughter to take with her to college, and I am really impressed with how much functionality is packed into such a small package. When folded, it is incredibly compact and easy to slip into a backpack, tote bag, or even a larger purse. The weight is substantial enough to feel well made without being heavy or cumbersome. The design is attractive and looks much nicer than the average travel umbrella. It opens and closes smoothly, and the canopy provides surprisingly good coverage for such a small umbrella. The retractable handle is a clever feature that helps keep the folded size to a minimum. At $23, it is a little more expensive than many compact umbrellas, but the quality seems to justify the price. The materials feel durable, and the construction appears solid. I especially like that it offers both rain protection and UV protection, which will make it useful year-round. My hope is that it lasts through all four years of college. The only thing standing in the way of that goal is whether my daughter can keep up with it! I am a sucker for a small umbrella. This one is definitely small. It is made of a different sort of material than most umbrellas. The listing says 190T waterproof pongee. It does definitely have a smell to it, and I hope that it dissipates as time goes on. At first glance it almost looks like the outer and inner sides are different fabrics but they are not. I got the one with the sky lining color. I think having the blue sky and clouds looks really neat. This umbrella has a fairly shallow crown which is probably due to the size it folds up into. I had only a tiny bit of trouble getting it open the very first time and after I figured it out, no issues at all. It folds up to a really short, albeit a bit big around case. You really do have to work at getting it wrapped up into the velcro closure band and I think if I was raining really hard, I'd have gotten a bit wetter while tying it up. And you do need to get that band on and closed in order to fit the entire umbrella into the case. It seems like a sturdy well built umbrella and I look forward to using it when it rains to stay dry. I could also use it for the sun, but that's not my style. It's perhaps a bit pricey but having once purchased a mini umbrella and paid more than double then what this goes for, I'm not complaining. All in all, it's a great little mini umbrella to have on hand and this one will stay in the car for emergencies. ... show more
