My 8 year old loves this thing!! It doesn’t throw very far so he has to stand approximately 5 -6 foot from it to hit the balls. For catching practice I sit it up on the porch so the balls will go a little farther. Great for beginner ball players!!

This toss machine has some useful features, but it works best when viewed as a beginner-friendly training toy rather than serious sports equipment. The balls do not travel especially far, even with adjustments, so I think it is better suited for younger children who are just learning hand-eye coordination and basic timing. It may also work well for gentle play with a dog. The hopper is my biggest concern. It feels somewhat flimsy, and I am not fully confident that it will reliably support the stated number of balls over repeated use. The machine itself is lightweight, which makes it easy to carry, store, or bring along for trips, but that lighter construction also contributes to a less substantial overall feel. I also wish it had a rechargeable battery instead of requiring disposable batteries. A built-in rechargeable option would be more convenient for frequent use and would reduce the need to keep replacing batteries. On the positive side, setup is straightforward, the controls are simple enough for families to use, and the ability to work with several types of balls adds versatility. For small children practicing basic swings or catches, it can provide a fun and accessible introduction to different sports. I would say this is best for catching practice or slow pitch soft ball only. The hopper is a bit flimsy. It’s pretty easy to use. I wouldn’t say adjustable. I bought foam balls that work a lot better so I highly suggest that. I originally ordered for my 8U son and ended up only keeping it for my 6U softball girl. ... show more

    • I Honestly Don't Understand How This Made It to Market!
I purchased this to work with my 8-year-old daughter on her hitting, and we both started laughing almost immediately after turning it on. The very first ball it launched traveled only a few feet and had virtually no velocity behind it. I kept thinking maybe I had assembled something incorrectly or there was an adjustment I had missed, but after multiple attempts it became clear that this was simply how the machine operates. The problem is that the balls included with the machine are surprisingly heavy, which only makes the performance worse. The machine struggles to generate enough speed to make the tosses useful for any sort of meaningful hitting practice. I'm not exaggerating when I say the balls were traveling only a handful of feet. Even my 8-year-old immediately recognized that it wasn't providing anything close to a realistic toss for batting practice. Another confusing aspect is the included ball feeder. It appears capable of holding around ten balls, yet the machine only comes with two. Not that having ten balls would solve the performance issues, but it added another layer of confusion to an already puzzling product. I can't speak intelligently about cricket, and maybe there is some use case I'm missing, but for baseball and softball training this was completely ineffective. I genuinely don't understand how anyone could test this product and conclude that it's ready for sale as a hitting trainer. One of my favorite options with this is the ability to plug it in or use batteries of you aren’t near a plug. Good if you don’t have a partner to soft toss you. I have used baseballs and pitching machine balls. Both work well. It’s as easy as filling the hopper, set the height of the toss, and get to swinging. The toss stays on line for what you set it to and stays there. You can go low or high on the toss to simulate different zones for the pitch. Good for the lone player that wants to get reps in.
