I guess everyone got a different product.. someone said ignore bad reviews. U can look at my profile. I have 100s of things I review. This was the worst purchase ever on Amazon and that's the truth. The doors do not stay on. The review of the blue set is right they poo right out .. the paint peels off when u remove the board stickers the back border was the best PC there and it's like cardboard.. the shelf isn't worth it free. Please do not waste your money. I dont know if they actually fixed all the issues with it to bad because they are pretty and I would have bought 4 or 5 more if the one I purchased in pink worked. I knew this would be a simple and cheap shelf, but it's worse than I anticipated. One of the pieces wasn't compatible with the instructions, asking me to insert magnets into a piece without holes for them and no way to secure it. The bottom enclosure fell off immediately, the back is in three pieces so the middle just opens. When peeling off the letters marking the different pieces it peeled the pink paint. I knew for the price it wouldn't be great. I don't expect this to last long at all. It's barely made of better quality than a cardboard box. You would not want to set anything of weight or value on this. It is cute if you don't look too closely. The bands to cover the raw edge were not placed on properly. When you peel the label stickers off they take the paint too. This could not actually hold a shelf full of books. The shelf would likely collapse under the weight. ... show more

This was a cute little additional shelf to add to my daughters Minnie Mouse decor however the smell once attached was unbearable. I tried reading other reviews afterwards to see if anyone experienced the same and what they did to get it out but only one complained. I used Lysol wipes and spray but to no avail. I tried febreeze spray again that didn’t help. I couldn’t use soap and water bc the wood is Farley cheap and that would destroy the shelf before she got to enjoy it. I had to take it out her room (she’s only 4) and let the smell eventually fade away, which took about 3 weeks. ... show more

Purchased this bookshelf for my 7 year old daughter's room with a matching table. Over all the quality is cheap. I didn't expect top end given the low price, and since she's rough on things, I refuse to put anything in her room that I would get upset if it got destroyed. That being said every surface for this unit was scratched up right out of the box. Several areas of banding is not adhered adequately. I would send this back, except I fully expect my daughter to have it scratched up within the first month of using it in her room anyway. ... show more

Perfect for my 5 yr old's chapter books. (for size reference: such as Nancy Clancy, Junie B. Jones, The Magic Tree House, The Critters Club, Sophie the Mouse...) Best results if assembled with help. Make sure to align the screws with the holes, keep the screws straight as you screw them in or you will end up breaking the material so feel for the screw while you screw it in so you know when to stop and prevent the screw from breaking through the material.
