This series are made of 12mm medium density composite wood made from recycled materials of rubber trees. All the materials are manufactured in Malaysia and comply with the green rules of production. There is no foul smell, durable and the material is the most stable amongst the medium density composite woods. A simple attitude towards lifestyle is reflected directly on the design of Furinno Furniture, creating a trend of simply nature. I honestly wasn't expecting much given the price point, but I've been thoroughly impressed! Assembly was a breeze. I had it put together by myself in under 15 minutes, which is always a huge plus. This is not a solid wood bookcase and the vendor does not claim it to be so. This bookcase is particle board with a veneer that looks fine. Easy to assemble (you'll need a hammer), has good colors, and firm quality. The only thing unexpected about this shelving unit was the back, which is three pieces taped together instead of one solid piece, but once it's assembled (and especially once books are on the shelf) you can't tell. It could fall over easily, so be sure to place it in a room where little ones and pets aren't pulling at it and it's a great little shelf for the price. ... show more

For the price, I don't know what I was expecting. The build quality seems very basic, very bare minimum shelf with just a design layer to appear of a different type of wood. The assembly was not pleasant, trying to align three dimensions at once. The screw holes are pre-drilled and screws and nails are provided so that's a plus, for both the shelves themselves and the back cover. You will need a power drill and hammer for assembling this shelf. For the price, I would have preferred to buy a metal shelf that is short and wide or slimmer and taller instead, but it's better to have the option on the market than not to. I would have given it 2 stars but they included a tool that I ignored at first until I hit my finger hammering the nails. That's when it clicked that the tool must have had some sort of use for that, seeing its triangular shape. This is the kind of modern technology and ease of use facilities I expect from products nowadays, in this ever-growing competitive market. I did not elect 4 stars because I would not buy this product again, I've owned better products and alternatives, I wouldn't recommend this shelf to anyone I know. It is not a bad shelf, just not my cup of tea. Disassembling the shelf when moving will also prove to be a tedious task. Finally, the base of the shelf could have been slightly wider for me, at least for the top and bottom, or some sort of stand or aligning base, not by the length but the width Z axis. I couldn't drill everything to be perfectly aligned, as one thing or another kept moving when trying to hold 2 parts, a screw, and a drill all at once, I do recommend a second person if you do end up buying this anyway. I will likely still keep the shelf but leave it behind when I move, as repacking and returning it may be more tedious than just keeping it and using it lightly for some storage and basic items around the house. ... show more

I ordered these bookshelves with specific measurements in mind. In that regard they are perfect, fitting into the space just as i expected, so I give it 5 stars there. They were easy enough to assemble, but since the shelves are not adjustable, but attached to the sides, assembly took a bit longer than some other shelves I have assembled. Since I did not have any issues with understanding how to assemble and I received all the necessary parts , I give the assembly process 5 stars as well. The shelves are sturdy enough for my purposes, but if you want to pack it full of heavy books, they may not hold up well in the long term. I recommend taking into account the weight limits given in the description. Based on the description, and my experience so far, I give it 5 stars there, too. Where I took a star off my overall review is with the sturdiness of the very top of the bookcase. My husband was looking fir a specific book and when he stood up he steadied himself with the corner of the top shelf. It did not completely damage it, but I did need to glue a couple blocks of wood to reinforce the connection where the shelf is attached to the sides. For extra measure, I did the same with the inside shelves as well. If they would include some type of reinforcement fir added sturdiness, this would have elevated my overall review to 5 stars. All in all, I do recommend these shelves, and would purchase again. ... show more
