    • Easy to assemble but you get what you pay for

It was easy to assemble, just need a Phillips head screwdriver and a hammer or mallet. However, the screws are not set in, so they stick out about 1/8 inch off the bookcase. The manufacturer provides simple white round stickers to cover the screws. They barely cover the screws, do bot match the laminate on the shelf, and do nothing to help with the screws poking out from the body of the shelf. I ended up pushing the edge of the stickers into the gap between the screw and the shelf. It doesn't look terribly professional but is much better than the stickers floating in air. Also, take care removing the sticker labels used by the manufacturer to mark the components for the instructions. You can inadvertently peal off some of the finish with the sticker. I used extra white stickers for the screws to cover 2 tears. All in all, it was cheap and easy to put together. It suits my immediate needs well. I will be looking for something more quality for long term use. ... show more

    • Great Bookcase for Small Spaces

I was looking for a storage unit to use behind my crafting desk as a kind of "credenza" to store additional crafting tools I like to have handy. The challenge was how low the windowsill under the large window sits. But set up horizontally instead of vertically, this bookcase did the trick! The 4 "shelves" create 4 "cubbies" I was able to fit some existing wicker baskets in, and still have the whole top surface for additional storage bins - exactly what I was looking for in that small/low space under the window. And the black color coordinates great with all the other furniture pieces I have in that room. I can't speak to the longevity yet, but I'm sure with proper use it will hold up well over time. One word of caution, as others have pointed out: Be VERY CAREFUL when nailing the back panel onto the frame - the fiberboard frame will split/flake apart VERY easily if you have to pull them back out for a second try. I did lose a few small "chunks" by miscalculating placement, but since it was on the back side facing the wall, I was able to hide my mistakes. Overall, very happy with my purchase - it is the exact size I needed, sturdy enough for my purposes, fairly easy to put together, a terrific value, and super quick delivery. I bought this because it was in my budget & the perfect dimensions for what I needed and overall, I like it! I would have paid slightly more for the removal of 2 flaws- 1. Screws do not sit flush with the surface of the boards, which is frustrating if you're displaying it like I do (3 small cubes on the bottom), this could potentially scratch/dent book covers if you're not careful. The stickers help a lot, but I will probably end up padding the surfaces with raised screws with pieces of cardstock/something similar. 2. I would have preferred if this wasn't "reversible", it would rock if all the inner pieces were just pink with white borders on all sides. The fact that they're white on one side and pink on the other just makes the product look unfinished from most angles. ... show more

It’s cute, a little small, but they do give the dimensions so that’s on me. Along with other reviewers, the stickers are a joke since the screws are not flush and I have a shelf that I’ve torn up now because the holes were not aligned correctly and I had to use use a drill to create new holes (missed the first time and it tore up the shelf a bit). Luckily this is the one for my closet so no one will see it. If I used the holes it had, I would have one shelf sticking out further than everything else. Hope I f the second one I purchased goes together more smoothly since it’s for my granddaughter’s room. ... show more

This bookshelf is perfect for holding all my books! For the most part it was easy to assemble. I wish the directions were more specific or color coded because I had to take apart certain parts of the shelf twice to switch the shelves, so that the white part was facing up. The assembly time does take ~50 minutes with 2 people, just like the directions say. It seems to be decent quality for now but this shelf will not last as long as other shelving units. Also, it is very skinny and very short! The measurements are given in the description but I was really taken aback by how small it was. This would be ideal for a child/tween’s room or used as decoration and not an active bookshelf. For the pricing, quick shipping, and quick assembly time, I’m happy with this purchase! ... show more

    • Furinno: consistently excellent furniture!
Color: French Oak Size: 4-Tier Corner Pattern Name: Shelf
Having positive memory of making a previous purchase of a Furrino furniture product, I just bought three different models of these easy-assembly kits, including this 4-tier corner, open shelf bookcase, in French Oak. This, as well as the other two kits, arrived in excellent condition and assembled into very attractive furniture for the price. This color is actually griege (grey+beige) and I find this mostly grey-ish, rustic wood finish to be really attractive in my shabby-chic, oriental-ish decor. For less- expensive veneer finish, I can't tell it's not a natural finish unless I study it closely - although it does look too-good-to-be-true. The texture even feels authentic. (I have made my own furniture and done finish carpentry at an amateur level.) I don't have much interest in buying expensive furniture, so products by this brand consistently satisfy me - because to me, they do look like quality furniture. To be sure, I would not put these in an abusive, high impact, environment without expecting some damage to the veneer finish - but I think this color, particularly, would be amenable to gray- wash touch-up. I put this corner shelf at the end of a longer shelf, to match another smaller Furinno bookcase-table across the room. I received no compensation for this review, other than the satisfaction over sharing my experience with a good product with others - motivated by believing a company that consistently makes great products should be recognized. ... show more
