This bookcase was very easy to assemble; especially with a cordless drill. The unit as a whole seems pretty sturdy especially for it's price point. The back is made of flimsy material, but they provide instructions and tools to help steady it a bit. I only have 2 cons with this unit. One of the corners came messed up, but luckily it is bottom corner so doesn't affect the look of the unit and is small enough it doesn't affect the balance. The other issue I had with the unit was in the instructions on how put it together. The illustration for step 3 indicate that the screws go in the outer 2 holes on both sides; but they actually go in the INNER 2 holes. I tried to follow the instructions at first but then realized if I did the nails would stick out and the unit pieces would not lay flush to each other. I have a small odd wall space that this unit fits into perfectly! Exactly what I was looking for to help organize my makeup. Birchbox boxes and ipsy bags fit with just a little overhang. ... show more

This tower was very easy to put together. Not including shelf placement, this took me about 45 minutes to complete assembly, including organizing and inspecting the pieces and hardware. Some reviewers say their tower fell apart. Mine is very sturdy, and I don't expect that. I have two complaints: The first is the lack of covers for the two locking cams, which I can see inside the tower when I'm sitting. The manufacturer included stickers made for hiding the screws (appreciated!), and two cam covers would only cost a few cents. The second is stability. The tower comes with wall anchors to keep it from tipping forward, but I don't care to attach this to a wall. The manufacturer could make the bottom piece larger for those who don't want to use wall anchors. I bought a single shelf piece and nailed it to the bottom just for this purpose, and it works for me (no kids or pets or indoor sporting events). The shelf sticks out an inch on each side and three inches in the front, and it keeps the tower stable on carpeting. Overall, the tower looks nice and is serving its purpose. The espresso laminate matches my other espresso laminate furniture, which were made by different companies, so I'm thrilled about that. It was easy to put up but it did not last long. I requested a refund from amazon. The back supports for hanging the fixture are not sturdy and it needs stronger fasteners to the unit. You must find your own attachment to your wall depending on what the wall is made of (plaster, drywall, brick) however the attachment to the actual unit are provided and they do not hold the unit up. they need a cross brace or even longer screws. However to update - I contacted the manufacturer and they were very helpful and speedy in resolving the issue. Good customer service ... show more

Don’t waster your $. It’s a POS. Parts don’t fit correctly or square up. I get it that it is cheap but it’s junk. Spend more and buy a real Media Tower.

I bought this system to house my DVD movies and CDs. It's a nice tall shelf system with a fairly decent color. You construct two separate parts and then they are to be joined vertically. You could place them side by side, but it's not really setup for that. Sure it'll work if you prefer, but doing it vertically will take up less room. It has a smaller shelf to house a fair number of CDs. In the vertical mode there are a couple of things on it to screw it to the wall. I hired a handyman to assemble it for me. If you are more inclined to assemble things, you can do it yourself but remember to check the manual as it's a wee bit tricky to finish the vertical assembly. ... show more

I see this shelf catching a lot of heat, but I don't completely agree with all of it. My main gripe is the price: For what this is, it's WAY overpriced. Should be around a $25-$30 price range at the MOST. Couple of things: 1. ASSEMBLY: Very simple, if you just take your time and don't rush it. I had this together in less than 30 minutes, and it stands just fine (It's NOT stable due to its with and depth...if you plan on putting a bunch of stuff on it, consider using the anchor hardware that comes with it.) Everything aligned just fine, and all the parts fit. 2. QUALITY: It's your typical, low-quality particle board furniture. VERY easily ruined if you force any of the hardware or nails from the back. Be careful! 3. APPEARANCE: It looks fantastic, and does a great job of storing my CD's, which is the exact reason I bought this thing. 4. MISCELLANEOUS: The stickers were a pain to remove. You might need GooGone, or something similar to get the sticker gunk off. Unfortunately, they're right on the front of the pieces, so they'd be in plain view. BE CAREFUL when you're tacking the backing piece into the shelves! If you miss, you're going to split the particle board wide open. 5. SUMMARY: I like how this looks, and it does what I need it to. I do NOT, however, think it's worth the asking price. If you look around, you can find something similar that's more reasonably priced, I'm sure. The risk of particle board stuff is the longevity; if it gets constantly moved around, it probably won't last. And, there ya have it...my rambling review of...a shelf. :) ... show more

I’ll never understand why businesses can’t put out a video for putting things together. They always give crappy instructions. I got it together but it doesn’t seem sturdy.
